Jez, I'd be careful about making comments in a school that could in any way be construed as disparaging a person's religion (i.e., "I thought that you were to set an example for the world to follow, I thought that you were morally superior to the 'world'."). In today's litigious society, it could result in legal action that could be detrimental to your employment at the school. This is true even if you caught the student cheating or engaging in other conduct that violates school rules. Other than that, it's cool that you said what you said!

What do creationsts have to offer?
by Pole inthere were a few interesting threads recently on evolution/creationism.
some posters seem to have argued it would be fair to have creationism taught at schools.
(see abadon's thread).

Evidence against Evolution part 1 (disparity before diversity)
by hooberus inaccording to the evolutionary teaching (of the descent of all life via universal common ancestry) diversity in the fossil record should precede disparity.
("disparity refers to the extent of morphological divergence among members of a group, while diversity refers to the number of taxa within a group.

I was never baptized, and excised the cancerous lesion known as the Watchtower by simply terminating all attendance or other association with Jehovah's Witnesses. I was 14 at the time, and about a year later, the local congregation, at the behest of my father, sent some young brothers to meet with me. I'll never forget it. As they approached the door, I took in one big hit off the water pipe. When they rang the doorbell, I opened the door and exhaled a large volume of smoke in their faces. I guess they got the message, because I never saw or heard from them again.

"Words cant describe how much I despise this evil, spirit breaking, life stealing cult."
Junction-Guy,
Thanks for finding the words that express my sentiments verbatim. The Watchtower Corporate Cult stole everything that was happy out of my childhood, leaving me to fend for myself in a reality that this cult did not prepare me for. I've done well on a professional level, but still can't seem to exorcise the anger attributable to having been an exploited child of the Watchtower corporate cult.
I'd like to send the entire governing body on an all-expenses paid proselytizing tour of Baghdad, with the hope that the insurgents find their heads desirable. -

Does Devil Talk Irritate You?
by love2Bworldly ini enjoy reading the bible on my own since i left the jw's.
i get extremely irritated when other people talk to me about how satan is causing certain things in my life--example is if i'm not getting along with a coworker or anything like that.
