  What is the most troubling or disturbing biblical passage you ever had to rationalise when a Jw?

  what about those awkward sections of scripture?

  how did you rationalise or justify those sections?.

  @pleasereasearch - Ezekiel chapter 23. The entire chapter is disgusting. 20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses

  The urban legends we heard as JWs!

  how often have we heard some sort of sensationalist urban legend as jws?.

  here is an example i was told as a kid:.

  the experience of a sister who knocked on a door and was greeted by a big fierce looking man- intimidating and mean.

  oh heres another--an elderly sister was preaching door to door when vicious dogs were about to attack her but she miraculously jumped over a 6 foot tall fence. (cane and all).

  Book of Revelation

  one of the things that really bothered me is how most of the book of revelation isn't understood by most jws.

  most of the trumpets were already sounded many decades ago, is that still right?

  it seems like most jws just look the other way.

  I was just thinking about this book yesterday.

  My spouse is adamant that new scrolls will be open in 'the new system' because of the content in Revelation. He is PIMI. I am POMO.

  Whoever wrote this book was definitely high on something. And 'evidently' it was almost not canonized.

  What everyone else has posted, especially @Whynot said. Those stories made me sick to my stomach as a 12/13 year old. (even now its disturbing)

  Also having to marry your rapist. (if he chooses).

  @stuck, are you from Cali? I heard that exact rumor all my life growing up!

  How about the Smurfs being demonic and how one actually walked out of the kingdom hall? so silly now that im not an impressionable young child.

  Vidiot, i agree with you! Makes no sense. wouldn't it have been more strategically sound - from their POV - to stop bothering the guy after he'd gone into the "wrong" church (i.e. before he'd gotten to a Kingdom Hall)
