I dont think she was ever baptized or knows what its like to grow up in a "real' JW household. I have a feeling famous JW's like her & Coco Rocha give the Borg large donations so they just look the other way. Or maybe not, either way they are giving publicity to JW's and that may be a good thing.

"We don't do that" - Serena Williams talking about celebrating birthdays
by vivalavida ini guess you can be physically out, like in a huge way, but definitely mentally in.. serena williams claims she won't be celebrating her daughter's first birthday.. i did know people like that, raised as a jw but never actually baptizing.
that didn't mean they were not messed up in the head though..

That is so sad. Can I share parts of this on my social media? I can leave your name out of it of course.
Thank you for sharing. Im a born in ex jw that grew up in the late 80's, early 90's and never heard of 1975 fiasco until I researched Jw history & learned TTATT 1.5 years ago.

Only Jehovah's Witnesses
by Vanderhoven7 inwhat do you think of this rant?.
“jehovah's witnesses are the only true religion.
this is demonstrated by a slew of true teachings that only jehovah could have revealed to his servants on earth.

"Each of these events brought woe to Satan and his world. The release of the anointed in 1919 from the abyss of inactivity stung Christendom’s clergy and demonstrated Jehovah’s total rejection of her. From 1922 down to today, the huge cavalry has killed Christendom, spiritually speaking, exposing her dead condition and warning of her coming destruction."
Woe to Satan's world? How can they possibly prove this? Spiritually killed Christendom? How? They are so delusional.

Were you or someone you know sexually molested by a Jehovah's Witness ?
by flipper indue to the fact there are about 27,000 members of this religion that are known pedophiles, and the information about it is kept in a secret database file, i wonder how many lurking jw's as well as others are aware of the severity of this problem?
remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.
what about the thousands that don't get caught?

This thread is 11 years old. Let that sink in. 11 years and NOTHING has changed within the JWborg to protect children. They insist on applying their archaic 2 witness rule. I personally know of at least 10 people (children at the time) that were sexually abused by their JW cousins, brother, elders, and 5 kids by their own parents. Nothing was ever reported-just swept under the rug in order to not give Jehovah a bad name.
For any JW lurkers out there who think these are 'apostate lies', please take some time to read through these brave peoples stories of abuse and see for yourself that there truly is a problem within the org. This is why the GB tells you to only read from their approved JW websites. They fear that you will learn the truth about the truth.

Critique/Rebuttal of May 2018 Watchtower study article - "Know Your Enemy"
by doubtfull1799 inimportant note: i am not a theist and this is all meaningless of course from an atheist perspective, but this critique is written from a theistic perspective for those who are interested in picking apart jw theology or are still religious.
if this is not you, please just ignore!.
comments, additions, corrections to my crazy ramblings all welcome.

Thank you for posting this. I was very curious as to why my uber PIMI husband has been obsessed with talking about Satan and the demons the past couple of weeks. I don't like to ask what the meetings are about and I also don't like going to the jwbog website.
Is it just me or does the society seem obsessed with Satan and the demons? Now hes convinced the end of the world is SO CLOSE...!

Am I being unreasonable with my pimo boyfriend?
by Addison0998 ini was very lucky to have be dating somebody who didn’t run and snitch on me when i started having questions and showing him research i did, instead he listened to me, and after a few arguements, he did wake up as well.
it really didn’t take much to wake him up, and he was more just tired of the crazy witnesses in general.
and now we are planning on getting married and fading together so that our families can at least enjoy our wedding, that special time in life, before we possibly loose them one day.

You have gotten some really amazing advice on here.
You are LUCKY he no longer wishes to be a witness. That is one of the biggest challenges some of us on here have to face.
So yes, be THANKFUL he is done and let him deal with it his way. Maybe hes not ready to deal with his feelings. I have ex jw friends who don't like discussing their JW past. Everyone has their own way of dealing with it-like dubstepped said. If you need help dealing with your family, maybe you can seek therapy? Or like Wake me said, you can vent on here. I know that helps me a great deal.

Be Couragous! - (Like The Governing Body?)
by pale.emperor ini was watching lloyd evans rebuttal to the saturday program of the be courageous convention.
lloyd pointed out something that had occurred to me as well:.
all this talk and examples of courage, whether it be standing up in class defending intelligent design, putting up with being imprisoned, not running away from bullies, always having a reply to someone who tries to ridicule your faith... the young ones are encourages - nay, commanded - to stand their ground and be courageous.

That is a link that a JW wrote excusing Losch's actions, words. If you have the stomach for it. The comments are even worse.

@silentbuddha Thank you for sharing, I'm always up to hearing stories from ex-bethelites. I lived in Queens a long time ago and spent a lot of time at all the Bethel buildings. (I was secretly 'dating' one'). I have a few funny stories myself.
@wake me-I would read that book! ha

I know this post is 14 years old, but I'm bumping it for newbies like me. My spouse is so sure that these prophecies are now happening thanks to the latest convention. Thanks Leolaia!
