  okay so i like dramatic lashes.

  and my grandma told me all the women are complaining about them being a distraction.

  well all i have to say to them is "kiss my ass".

  we had our special assembly day this weekend.. what the district overseer stated in his talk totally stunned me, and made me feel sick to my stomach.

  he said, "christ is directing us through the governing body, and we cannot get holy spirit except through them!".

  i do not wish to reveal all my thoughts on his statement, but i pray to god that it acts as a wake-up call to at least some of the audience.. suffice to say that the gb is now the mediator to our mediator, and from now on, i will have to pray for holy spirit through the name of the gb!!.

  Firstly, what he said is blasphemy.

  Also, by bible standards it is a declaration of apostasy.

  Him speaking just that one sentence should be enough to make any honest hearted persons seriously question the motive behind it.

  There Will be Blood -

  What a great film for those of us who can relate to the religious aspect of it.

  All that Church of the Third Revelation crap really reminded me of what I was taught as a kid.

  We loaned it to my wife's father who is an elder and he said he didn't much like the film.

  I thought, no, I bet you bloody didn't because it is too close to home for you to feel comfortable with it.

  There is a heck of a lot of truth contained in that film.

  And what superb acting!!!

  Sorry I've deviated from your theme but I don't really know enough about the internal workings of the WT$ to be of any help.

  american cable companies pay for public affairs programming and we see it on cable.

  i particularly liked tony blair.

  Agree strongly with the above.

  That despicable man Blair and his odious wife really did damage this great country more than all of its enemies combined.

  After his failed attempt to sabotage this country he quit and basically said, "oh, by the way, I'm now a Catholic so you can all go to hell".

  I can understand why people in the US like him so much. It is because he had his head so far up George W Bush's arse it was hard to tell where Bush ended and Blair began.

  Its going to take David Cameron and the Conservative Government a long time indeed to undo the injury that man and his cronies did to this country.

  He should be tried for war crimes and treason against his own country.

  Principally because I love my country (as we all should) I hate the man.

  I can't believe people would even consider voting Labour back in!!!

  God help us if they do.

  This is such a great nation and yet those people would have us crawling on our hands and knees at the mercy of the world.

  He was only ever interested in lining his own pockets, which he successfully did.

  Very good comments Christ Alone. You have said pretty much what I myself think.

  The Watchtower prevents honest people from reading their bibles and finding truth because they have filled their heads with preconceptions about Christianity and its doctrines.

  In a twisted way it is quite clever really.

  It is interesting that you mention the trinity. Well, no it isn't specifically mentioned in the bible (as with so many other things) but it came about as it is the only solution to the identity of Jesus and God the Almighty. Jesus said many, many things that identified himself as deity. This, despite what you have been taught by the WT cannot be ignored. If you read the book of Revelation it becomes very obvious that Jesus and God are one and the same. This is what the bible says, not what I say. Let it speak for itself!

  How can this be so when Jesus said that the Father was greater than he?

  Well, at that particular time he was of course.

  In short, what I am saying is, don't be put off or stumbled by all of the red herrings that the WT has churned out.

  The Christian faith is not an easy thing to grasp when you have had your mind poisoned by the Watchtower (I should know) but try to give it the benefit of the doubt and look at it objectively and without predjudice.

  Do's and Dont's on debating JWs online

  recently i have seen an increase number of former members trying to argue ttatt with jws on youtube, news articles, facebook and public forums.

  for the most part, i do not see a lot of vicious or hostile debates when former members are trying to show ttatt, but i have seen some arguments and approaches turn out very ugly, to the point of many face palms.. i remember there were several instances that completely turned me off towards ttatt as a believer because "apostates" would be entirely reprehensible and would fit the bill of what the society termed "mentally diseased".

  i cannot fault ones here who have gone on a similar rampage now that i understand how people lose everything and everyone they love.
