  Women: Are they Equal to Men ?

  one of the hard core doctrines of the wt society, and many other religions, is that women are to be in "subjection" to men.. in the bible, in genisis , it says the domination of women by men came after adam and eve disobeyed god.

  eve was cursed by pain in childbirth and that from then on as a curse: "he shall rule over you " from then on the male was to dominate the female.. but that was not in the original plan.

  this was a reversal of the plan and a curse.

  ...and that applies to religion as well as politics.. if someone simply believes such and such is true, it doesn't really matter whether you "prove" it or not.

  You are quite correct.

  I read both Franz books, Gentile Times Reconsidered and some other books which I can't remember the name of.

  The trouble is, people believe what they want to believe irrespective of the facts and I quickly realized this. Many people have been blindly following the 'truth' for so long that, when faced with a challenge, instead of questioning their beliefs cognitive dissonance will cut in like the governor on an engine to compensate for the lack of 'proof'.

  You just have to let them be as it is a case of the blind leading the blind.

  To spend your time trying to prove them wrong actually in some way qualifies or dignifies the false message that they preach.

  If I told you that I was from the future would you waste your time tracing my lineage and my history to prove that I was in fact born and raised over the last few decades???

  Of course not. And in time I realized that arguing with an active Witness about their false take on the Bible was doing my own intellect an injustice.

  Apathy is the best medicine for them for if you don't take them seriously they will find it increasingly more difficult to take their own message seriously.

  Persecution only serves to reinforce their own preconcieved notion in line with what the WT has them believe.

  That said, an acurate and well documented history of the WTS is of course neccessary for those wishing to gain an objective view of the movement so I do not critisize anyone for that but you do reach a point when you have to let people believe what they will.

  At least they have proved to you that it clearly is a cult. Otherwise, why would they abandon you?

  I actually find it quite hard to understand why they would.

  okay so i like dramatic lashes.

  and my grandma told me all the women are complaining about them being a distraction.

  well all i have to say to them is "kiss my ass".

  Why on earth should people find your eye lashes a distraction???

  We had an elder who was constantly on about the sisters skirts.

  Eventually we came to the realization that he was sexually frustrated.

  The problem is in a person's mind, not with the length of your eye lashes...

  we had our special assembly day this weekend.. what the district overseer stated in his talk totally stunned me, and made me feel sick to my stomach.

  he said, "christ is directing us through the governing body, and we cannot get holy spirit except through them!".

  i do not wish to reveal all my thoughts on his statement, but i pray to god that it acts as a wake-up call to at least some of the audience.. suffice to say that the gb is now the mediator to our mediator, and from now on, i will have to pray for holy spirit through the name of the gb!!.

  Firstly, what he said is blasphemy.

  Also, by bible standards it is a declaration of apostasy.

  Him speaking just that one sentence should be enough to make any honest hearted persons seriously question the motive behind it.

  i was moved from the post of another user on this topic.like the film "there will be blood" that deals with passive aggression in religion i do now think that there will be an inevitable uprise against the lunatics of the governing body .too many of us wake up in a rate that has never been seen before because of the internet .what do you think ?

  what shape will this uprise take ?.

  There Will be Blood -

  What a great film for those of us who can relate to the religious aspect of it.

  All that Church of the Third Revelation crap really reminded me of what I was taught as a kid.

  We loaned it to my wife's father who is an elder and he said he didn't much like the film.

  I thought, no, I bet you bloody didn't because it is too close to home for you to feel comfortable with it.

  There is a heck of a lot of truth contained in that film.

  And what superb acting!!!

  Sorry I've deviated from your theme but I don't really know enough about the internal workings of the WT$ to be of any help.

  i enjoy watching the questions time in parliament.

  american cable companies pay for public affairs programming and we see it on cable.

  i particularly liked tony blair.

  Agree strongly with the above.

  That despicable man Blair and his odious wife really did damage this great country more than all of its enemies combined.

  After his failed attempt to sabotage this country he quit and basically said, "oh, by the way, I'm now a Catholic so you can all go to hell".

  I can understand why people in the US like him so much. It is because he had his head so far up George W Bush's arse it was hard to tell where Bush ended and Blair began.

  Its going to take David Cameron and the Conservative Government a long time indeed to undo the injury that man and his cronies did to this country.

  He should be tried for war crimes and treason against his own country.

  Principally because I love my country (as we all should) I hate the man.

  I can't believe people would even consider voting Labour back in!!!

  God help us if they do.

  This is such a great nation and yet those people would have us crawling on our hands and knees at the mercy of the world.

  He was only ever interested in lining his own pockets, which he successfully did.
