Is the U.N. preparing to attack Religion

about 5 minutes ago i get an article emailed to me from my mother telling me that i need to find a way to get back to jehovah and his saving arm... she read an article in a reputable newspaper that all the friends are using to show that its not just jehovahs witnesses who see religion about to get attacked by the u.n.. it concludes with a link to the article and her desire for me to please read it in light of my recent situation.. .

Excellent analysis Terry - but you already knew that.

I was never able to reconcile having the UN turn on religion when most UN member are a part of religion. Then you have the question as to - what does it mean to turn on religion? If someone can explain that I will be able to sleep soundly.

- If it means that religious organizations will need to prove their charitable works to obtain non-tax status - I think that is a good thing.

- If it means that religious organizations will need to complete a publicly available IRS form 990 - I think that is a good thing.

Neither of those items suggest turning on religion - it simply means getting religion to follow the same rules as all NFP organizations. If it means anything other than money and tax status, I have no opinion and really don't care.

Congregation Contributions

do you guys remember when the congregation's monthly contribution report was read out loud in the service meeting?

obviously, they don't do that anymore... does anyone here know why exactly they stopped reading the report publicly?.

seems fishy to me.

Interesting, I was the account servant that read the report every month for more than 10 years. I cannot imagine that it is not read. As an accountant I can attest to the fact that this is the most interesting part in the meetings.

Different Vibe in hall since new understanding of Faithful slave

has any noticed a different vibe in the kingdom hall since the new understand of the faithful and discreet slave .

when my wife forces me to go once and while and like to say i wonder what the slave will be this week .

man it pisses her off but she has been hardly actively since the new light.

Funny thing, no one cares.

Great comment - and exactly spot on - nobody cares. So when the r&f lie on their field service report everyone knows the game; but the good thing is that these people won't be pushed over to inactive or irregular - which creates extra work.

So, the system perpetuates itself. Lies beget lies, and as long as nobody screams "the emperor has no clothes," we are all fine.

i am liking that i can meet people who have the same interests as me... it can be lonely in the cities and specially after becoming an exjw.. .

i already signed up for spanish, french, salsa dancing, bachata dancing, and photography!!

Could they walk any slower on the ministry(tm)?

i was out in my car this saturday as i went to visit my friend.. i saw the jws scattered about mooching down the streets.. i arrived home in a different area to where my friend lives.

as i opened my door there was an invitation to the mock the christ ritual.

a group of jws mooched past my house, looked at me rather lethargically and carried on mooching along.. considering they don't know i'm an 'apostate(tm)', they certainly were in no hurry to beg me to come to their mock the christ charade considering that if i don't go jar-hoover will lovingly murder me soon (subject to overlapping(tm) ).. i know we had 'the pioneer walk(tm)' back in the day but puh-leeeeeeeze!

They count time because they want to get the illusion that they are busy. If they keep the r&f busy they won't think.

Be careful what you measure - it defines behavior.

For some very odd reason, they measure time. Time spent in service bears no relationship to productivity.

If the talked about goals in terms of activity, lets say talking to 100 people, they whould get to the quota within 15 minutes. You would see them running between doors.
