Has anyone ever calculated the point in time when there are more "ex" witnesses than practicing witnesses? Perhaps we are at the point now, but no one tole me. Except for a few diehards my guess is that most of those coming in during the growth years around 1975 are long gone.

No wonder they hate apostates!!
by ILoveTTATT inbesides a cult, everyone knows the watchtower is a business disguised as a religion.
from a business viewpoint, i would certainly hate or lobby against those who dislike my product and warn other people of my product.. i made a calculation based on information from jwfacts, and the results are just astounding!.

Male-dominated religions oppress women, Jimmy Carter says
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.clarionledger.com/viewart/20140328/feat04/303280035/religion-briefs-male-dominated-religions-religious-rights-jesus-crown-thornes-.
jimmy carter byline male-dominated religions oppress women, carter saysatlanta former president jimmy carter says male-dominated religions contribute to the oppression and abuse of women by twisting sacred texts to portray females as inferior to men in the eyes of god.. the 89-year-old carter makes that argument in his new book, a call to action: women, religion, violence and power.. in an interview broadcast on nbcs meet the press, the former president faulted his former denomination, the southern baptist convention, and the roman catholic church for denying women the same opportunities as men to serve as pastors and priests.. carter said some married men who belong to those churches conclude that their wives are inferior.. the catholic catechism and the 2000 baptist faith and message declare that men and women have different roles but are equal in the eyes of god..

I have gained to respect Carter post presidency, but he did some wacky things during his presidency. I read Edward Kennedy's biography, True Compass. He has some very enlightening things to say (none complimentary) about the Carter Whitehouse years. From Kennedy’s perspective, Carter was one strange cookie.
I was not that old, but I still remember his speech about the moral fiber of the United States. He just opened the door wide for Reagan to walk in with his morning in America theme.

Do/did you sing in the Kingdom Hall meetings against you will?
by Mr Fool ini m a little curious because i have hard to see that every single person has the interest to stand up and sing in the beginning and in the end of every meeting...... what will happen if you are interested in the so called truth, not to stand up and sing a song against your will?!
then, is it okay to sit down like normal when everybody else copy each other (stand up an sing a certain text/song) as parrots?.

During the last days of my time going to meetings I would either not sing, or purposely sing the wrong song - as loud as I could.

Any gay exJW's?
by Trapped in JW land inwas just wondering how many gay exjw's were on this site, and how did you deal with being in this organization?
and also, how did you end up leaving?.
-

While I a not gay, I understand the concept of "in the closet." I lived this for years as a witness knowing fully TTATT.
I also know gay ex witneses, and one is a very special friend of me and my family. The fact that individuals are born gay was one of the things that took me over the top when I was figuring out if religion was right for me.
How could god allow individuals to be gay and not allow these same people into his fold? This was the question that I struggled with and finially came to the conclusion that god does not matter.
I hope you connect with the best support system. Good luck. If you are in NYC and have a bottle of wine, look me up and we can talk.

So Spill the Beans, Brothers: Were There More or Fewer At this Year's Bore-Fest
by steve2 inthe jw date-worshipped memorial has just completed its bleak worldwide commemoration.
that wasn't a dust cloud you saw; it was a millionfold hearts limply beating themselves into another round of great tribulation expectations.
i was knocked into a deep, deep sleep by the imagined experience of being at several thousand consecutive kingdom halls as the platformed drones spat forth the predictable sludge that, once released, hits and stains white clothing and bleach is useless.. we know that memorial attendance worldwide has dipped for two consecutive years since 2011 when it reached a high of 19,374,737 and for the promised land, obama's usa, the all time memorial attendance high was also 2011 when it hit over 2.5million (2,563,518) but shrunk in shame back to 2,502,055 in 2012 and spluttered upwards a handful or two to 2,504,114 last year.. so, what was attendance at the date-obsessed bore-fest this year in your neck of the woods?

If it happens to hit 20M, does that mean we have found the TRUTH? Can we relate numbers to the truth? I as this as a emperically testable research question. What numbers related to the truth are statistically significant? But then, we have to define the variable "what is truth?"

Do you know Kevin Brown from Houston, Texas?
by Iamallcool ini was wondering if he is still in the organization.
part of me thinks he is out by now.
you can pm me if you know him.
-
NewYork44M
Have you tried tracking him down through the intenet. I did a quick search and found a few Kevin Browns in Houston. I am sure you can find him and give him a call. Based upon what you suspect he will be happy to hear from you.
When I was evolving out of the organization after I learned TTATT, while it never occurred to me at the time, I can recall comments that clearly suggest that I was not the only one struggling with their faith.
If I was Kevin I would really appreciate a call from you. Keep us posted.
