  divorce rate-education level

  in the paper a while ago, there was a study done on divorce rate compaired to education level.

  basicly they found higher education went with lower divorces, while lower education went with higher diverces.. and guess where jw fall into?.

  also, more lasting harm caused by the jw's lack of education besides lost jobs, even if one does leave..

  I did a quick literature review search. The relationship between divorces and education may be related to age. Those with a higher the education generally marry later in life as compared to a person with limited education.

  Witnesses tend to marry very young (I was 19 years old in my failed marriage). And of course we know the reason. The sexual drive is very strong and the context of the religion is that sex outside of marriage is very bad. So, if you want to have sex you gotta get married.

  I suspect that divorces among witnesses is pretty high. The dilemma is that a divorce is generally associated with a disfellowshipping. And if you are disfellowshipped, you are no longer part of the congregation, so your numbers don't count.

  I heard an interesting piece of information from a super-elder today

  today i attended the special assembly day (sad lol).

  i overheard a conversation between an elder and another elder.

  we'll call this guy a super elder because he's on all sorts of committees in the area.

  I have taught accounting a university for several years and always try to explain to my students that a marriage is a financial and economic bond. If you end up with a spend thrift that person can destroy your future. However, if you marry someone who has the same financial goals you have there is no end to the potential of your success.

  The unwillingness to provide the last three year tax returns and agree to a credit and criminal background check would be a great turn-off.

  If I was looking (I hope I never am in that position), but if I was, this would be a baseline requirement of any long-term committment.

  true believers, whether christian, muslim or whatever, want to convert you, they want you to believe what they do, and they're willing to go to extremes to make it happen.

  I am not an atheist. Why am I not an atheist? Because I don't consider myself cool enough to associate with those who are atheists. I see atheism as an elite club of people who consider themselves to be superior to the rest of us. They talk in such absolute terms and use words that suggest they are really really smart. Perhaps they are, who am I to say?

  To quote a line from Groucho Marx, "I would never want to be a member of a club that would have me as a member."

  But by the way I think religion is a bunch of crap. So now you know where I stand.

  So, I got my own stinkin problems and have no time or energy to enter the debate.

  given that magic is from satan, this is what we learned from the horrible story about the little boy and sparlock the warrior wizard.

  i am curious to know if witness kids are allowed to see the movie frozen.

  i am not a big disney fan, but this movie was wonderful.

  losingit: My girls' father wouldn't let them watch Frozen or take them to see the movie bc it had magic. Meanwhile he's out going to stripclubs. Hypocrite!

  Sounds like he has his own cognitive dissonance issues.

  It is never too soon to teach kids the concept of cognitive dissonance. Enjoying a movie about magic and making Jehovah sad are two strong emotions.
