What a disturbing, yet very funny, thread. I suspect we will all burn in hell for enjoying the thread as much as we all did.

"This is not a dress rehersal" Thank you for pointing this out Pams girl
For better or for worse, what our life is - is what it is. Coming to this realization was tough bout it helped me understand that I need to do everything I want to do in this life because I don't get a second chance.

C.T. Russel IS burried UNDER the pyramid
by FFtruther144 inrussel is burried under the pyramid.
according to none other than frederick franz himself, in his own words!.
i read some wt trolls on here trying to say that he is under the marker a few feet away.. that is not true.

There is a pyramid, but a few feet away there is also a tombstone. I always thought he was buried at the foot of the tombstone.
But in any event his bones are long dissolved into the earth. I think I had a salad the other day with his DNA attached. So, of all the things to fight over I am not sure if this rises to the occasion of controversy.

Sister kills a boy in an accident! A sad, sad story in more ways than one.
by DATA-DOG inhttp://www.kansascity.com/2014/03/22/4909006/youth-struck-killed-in-kansas.html.
a buddy of mine told me about this story.
a sister driving through a neighborhood struck two children, killing one.

As sad as it is, at least they were able to count time. Sorry if I offended anyone.
When I was an elder one of our MS struck and killed a homeless person who was wondering onto the street. He felt remorse, we conforted him, and life went on. He was not charged with any crime or traffic violation and we imposed no restrictions on him. There was no way he was responsible for the man's death.
When I was young a friend of the family from the congregation was a train engineer. He struck and killed at least one bystander. He felt remorse and went on with his life until he died.
Life is fragile. I am not sure how I would react if I was respnsible for the death of someone. Fortunately, that is not something I have had to deal with, at least as of now.

Are GB problems increasing or is it just better communication
by joe134cd ini was just wondering the other day if the gb problems are getting bigger (e.g law suites, financial, scandals)or is it just a case of they have always been entangled in some kind of drama, but with communication been what it is, it's now a lot easier to find out about them more quickly.
what do you think..

Oubliette, I agree, risk management is a concept beyond the grasp of the GB.
Which is why the GB does not really make the decisions. Those that make the decisions may facilitate the illusion that the GB is in charge. But I am sure these old men make very few decisions. They may be given the option of A or B. These options were well framed by thoses in charge before they get to the GB

Risk management is highly complex in an international multi billion $ organization. It is beyond the ability of the GB to manage risk.
While the GB is the "face" of the organization. I supose that the decisions they make are minimal. The real question is who are the ones really is in charge? I suspect that this group includes more than a few lawyers. Perhaps some that are not even JWs.

This Generation.
by objectivetruth inmatthew 1:1 is called "the book of the generation" - everything in matthew refers to this same generation.. similar terminology can be seen in genesis 5:1 " this is the book of the generations of adam.
when god created man, he made him in the likeness of god.
" all of the descendants mentioned in genesis 5 cover a time period of 1656 years.. another example of this type of generation, reference can be seen in genesis 37 "v.2 these are the generations of jacob.".

I wonder why discussions like this did not occur until after the generation of 1914 (that I was taught from an early age) all died.
Retrospective new light is so lame. If this discussion would have occurred in the 1960s I would have been impressed.

If only there were another GB member like Ray Franz
by tornapart ini'm just rereading crisis of conscience and was thinking if only there were others on the gb like him.
maybe things could change for the better.
for instance when he felt troubled that a woman couldn't get a divorce when her husband cheated on her with another man.. his response was this:-"the emotional upset i felt moved me to make a study of the original language terms (in greek) used in matthew, chapter nineteen, verse 9.".
