Will WT start having JW kids do school in kingdomhalls?
by EndofMysteries inwith all the articles about trying to keep kids in and not learn ttatt, etc, i can see one day they will use the kh's for class during the day and any parents who volunteer to teach, can count that as time.

Where would they get the teachers to teach at a kingdom hall school? There may be a few withesses with the appropriate degrees to teach, but certainly not enough for an organized school.
Based upon just that issue, I doubt that there will ever be a JW school at the local kingdom hall.

Chile and the flag September 18

I'm going to tell you that no kingdom hall or witness would display a flag in their window with out getting their arses kicked by the GB.
I disagree, it is all about keeping property investments secure. The society owned no substantive properties in Malawi, so screw them.

Reverse Shunning
by exwhyzee insometing happened yesterday that i thought might be noteworty enough to relate to you here.. mrs. eyz and i were invited to my new boss's home for his annual end of summer party.
it's a pretty big deal....his is a name known locally (i'll call him j.r.) a really nice interesting guy who's held a number of high level and politically connected jobs.
there was to be music, dancing, wine and reprotedly lots of well dressed, well educated, well to do and influential people (oh yes...and us) in attendance.. anyway we thought we'd make an occasion out of it and got ourselves spiffed up which involved new outfits and extra mirror time before we left home.

This story is old news but just as shocking as ever for those seeing it for the first time.
There should be some corporate guidelines related to investments. The ethical values of an organization are top down. If the top does not follow ethical guidelines then they cannot expect that lower level of management (i.e.e COs and elders) will have any higher ethical framework.

My last meeting the CO said "we don't think we have the truth... We KNOWwe have the truth!"
The way he held on to the word "know" displayed a level of arrogance that I found disgusting.
That was it - last meeting ever.

How many use iPads or tablets in your cong?
by stuckinarut2 ina question for those that still attend meetings.... how many use tablets or ipads in your hall?.
i did roving microphones this week, and i counted 43 people (variety of ages) out of an audience of 98!.
just curious....

I don't get the iPad thing at the meetings. How do they prevent people from surfing the internet, reading emails, checking sports scores, and the million other things to distract that forms the basis of the Internet?
Do they have monitors to make sure everyone is focusing on the material? I used to be criticized for reading scriptures that were not addressed by the speaker. That was nothing compared to the bag of candy that is readily available now. I cannot imagine how distracting (and wonderful) an iPad is at a meeting.
