Approximately how many JW have left permanently?
by longgone ini did try a search before posting this question and found nothing current.
pew research -2016 says approximately two thirds of those born into the religion in the united states alone, no longer consider themselves as members.
(sorry, still don't know how to link, but it's an easy google search.).

An honest question for those who were "born-in"
by stuckinarut2 injust wanted to ask a question of those who were born in as i was.. how did you feel to have been "privileged to have been born into the only true faith - the truth"?.
did this make you feel confident, or proud - or perhaps arrogant?.
how did you reconcile the fact that 99% of the earth's population was not born "into the truth"?.

I was born in - and considered a "true believer." That being said, I had many questions throughout my life - however, at the time I did not realize these were questions. In retrospect, my questions should have woken me up - but did not.
One takeaway as someone "raised in the truth:" I was always highly embarrassed by my religion. I cannot think of a time in all my life that I was not embarrassed by being a JW. That is actually quite sad. My embarrassment created guilt that I struggled with.

This is a fascinating discussion. Are any of the projections from this discussion thread correct? I guess we will soon find out. I hope to stick around long enough to see.

I remember not standing for the national anthem as a JW. I was a SOB and is one of the few things I regret in my life. Now, it is hard to stand for the national anthem without shedding a few tears. I love this country and am embarrassed by my past action.

In the last 20 years How Many Changes Have Occurred in Watchtower Beliefs?
by minimus injehovah's witnesses say that they have the truth and the truth is constant.
they believe that what they teach is the truth that comes directly from jehovah god.
can you think of anything that has changed in the last 20 years to show a jehovah's witness that the truth is not necessarily the truth..

You can take blood as long as it is chopped into very small pieces.
Also, what is the status of the resurrection of Sodom and Gomorrah? The fate of these fine people has flipped a few times over the past 20 years.

I didn't see anything in the outline about Jesus being Michael the archangel. Do they still believe that?

Since the speaker in the video recording will demonstrate how to develop an outline and
effectively teach from it, each elder and ministerial servant who serves as a public speaker
should carefully review the special talk outline, the Ministry School book, pages 52-55, and Reminders
for Those Assigned Public Talks (S-141) before the talk is presented in the congregation.
During the presentation, analyze how the speaker draws attention to the theme, how he uses the
Bible as the basis for his talk, and how he teaches directly from the Scriptures. Also, observe
how the speaker applies some of the teaching methods that will be discussed in the Kingdom
Ministry School for the 2018 service year.I have never seen a more obscene example of micromanaging. Ugg!

"The purpose of reporting field service time is for encouragement"
by HereIgo ini was told this when i was an aspiring jw, aka unbaptized publisher.
the above explanation didn't make sense to me then and it never did make sense throughout my jw career.
over time, it appeared to me the real purpose of field service time reporting was to gauge one's spirituality and for the ceo *cough* co to make sure the elders were on top of things during his visit..

The result of reporting time is coercive control over the r&f.
Reporting time serves no purpose other than to identify slackers within the congregation.
