my question is how many watchtower and awake magazines do the witnesses receive thru the year?
my mother and i stop going about 30 years ago, my sister does attend still, and she says that they will receive 3 watchtowers and 3 awakes a year.
is that true?
My parents had a huge stack of them piled up in the laundry room.
Everyone had a stack of magazines. The Watchtower promoted the fact that the printed millions of magazines every week - they attempted to create the image that the magazines were the most widely read magazines in the world. However, most of these magazines went no further than the proverbial stacks found in each publisher's home. This is a classic description of a fraud scheme called "channel stuffing."

Why is happiness a competition? Happiness is not a zero-sum game. The Watchtower seems to think that they are "the happiest people on earth." Even if that might be true, their happiness has nothing to do with my happiness. Guess what - we both can be happy!

still, i think there must be something that would make them really question their beliefs, even their life.. i think that if witnesses were told they could take blood or that disfellowshipping was unloving, they might stop and take a hard look at everything they have sacrificed their lives for.. i know the organization has muddled these subjects before but the i think even die hard witnesses might start to second guess the governing body..
I am convinced that there is absolutely nothing I could say that would convince a JW that they are following a dead end. However, I am also just as convinced that I can show some that live after the cult can be very successful. I am active in Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. While I do not engage in debates, those that know my past history in the cult will see a very successful (and happy) future after the cult.

I don't quite understand the statistics. if this is "searches," the statistics do not show the number of "hits." If I am wrong, please clarify.
One would assume that once you have identified your site, you will no longer search the site. Also, a site as simple as jw.org does not require a search unless you are really stupid.
I am encouraged with the increase in exjw searches. This implies that these are original searches. That is a good thing.

is anyone else staggered by the fact that outside of the organization most of the general public seem to know very little or nothing about jw’s?
when i was in i was led to believe that 99% of the worlds population had been giving sufficient warning, knew what it was all about and were stubbornly sticking to their immoral ways.
the reality seems to be that the entire jw universe is barely noticeable to the masses.
Due to an unbelievably ineffective preaching campaign, the Watchtower remains irrelevant.

This is the kind of writing that always drove me crazy when I was in. The article makes no sense. Your highlighted sentence is followed with a sentence that includes the word "likewise." So, what does that mean? Are we talking about maintaining a spiritual life as they go to school? That is the way I read it, but I can see that this is open to interpretation.
So, are they for or against college education? It is hard to tell from this article. The "open to interpretation" comments will leave all confused.
