.."death by a thousand" cuts is just as effective, IMO.
I agree. It won't take too many of these cases to burn through the billion $ windfall from selling the Brooklyn Heights real estate.

When you were an active JW, did you ever have dealings with a pyramid scheme?
by Tameria2001 ini'm not sure why this memory popped up, and i was wondering if any others, when they were still active jw had dealings with a pyramid scheme involving other witnesses in the organization?
at the time it was 1993, and my husband and i were still newlyweds.
once in a while, we would attend a neighboring congregation because that was where he grew up, and some of his family was still attending there at the time.

I have been the target of the usual MLM schemes. Amway and Shaklee. There was another one that was extremely popular, Metaluca. Same basic concept.
My deceased JW uncle was always getting involved in MLM, the one I remember that was the strangest was a company called NEMA (amen spelled backward). If I remember correctly, the hook was that everything contained vitamin C. He invested in the company, but I don't think it ever took off.

This is a quick build syndrome. In their rush to finish, wallpaper was pasted on wet drywall; A recipe for mold. An elder who was a drywaller explained this to me. I think this was a common problem.

When The Truth - is Not -The Truth
by Esau inis 607bc being a made up, “plug in” date the only thing that invalidates 1914 from being christ’s time of kingly rein?.
i mean, screw the math & bs formulas.
can 1914 simply work as a starting date for “the last days” simply by the events that occurred??

Don't forget that before there was 607, the Wt used 606. Not only was this a plugin date, it assumed incorrectly that there was a zero year. I would like to see the research moving the date from 606 to 607.

I agree with some of the comments. There will be a continued liquidation of property. Do they really need 3 locations in upstate NY? I suspect they are exploring liquidating both Patterson and Walkill.
I also like the idea of moving the cost and burden of printing to the congregations. Let these poor saps shoulder the cost.
Maybe the cart witnessing will simply be about showing a link to the JW.ORG website. No one takes the literature anyways. All cost savings and they can still keep the R&F busy.

How Would You Help A JW. Recognize They Do Not Have The Truth?
by minimus inevery witness says they are “ in the truth”.
that expression implies that what they say is the “truth “.
how could you help a witness understand that they clearly do not have “the truth “?.

Did you actually read the bible end to end?
by Ultimate Axiom inin my ten years as a witness i never read the whole bible end to end, what with four magazines a month, the book study, meetings and talk preparations, there just wasn’t the time.
i knew all the important references to ‘prove’ the various jw doctrines, and the cherry picked chapters that help foster the idea that it’s a good book, but that’s not reading it.
well after nearly forty years out, i decided i would do it.

November 2018 Watchtower study....attacking weak members, their personalities, and apostates
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe watchtower society always attempts to disprove or discredit valid arguments or statements by criticizing the ability of individuals to think, reason, ask tough questions and make their own decisions!
if they can't logically attack the message, they attack the messenger!!
the name calling of apostates or anyone who doesn't agree with all the wtbts flip-flops ( the light gets brighter) never stops!

The great thing about the internet is that all this information is a click away. For someone to stay in the truth, they must actively avoid TTATT. Even search words like Jehovahs Witnesses will lead to a path of destruction.
It is getting harder and harder to avoid what is true. But make no mistake, there will always be die-hard witnesses.
