My commute has gone from 40 minutes to over two hours. I first walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to the WTC Path terminal. I then take the Path to 33rd. When I get out of the NJ Path I have to walk for another 20 minutes.
This strike is an outrageous abuse of power. The longer it goes on the angrier I get. any predictions when it will end. My prediction is that we will be into next year before the subways start up again.

Throughout my last years as a fading dub, I tried really hard to predict who was in the "fade mode." Once or twice I was correct, but most people did a good job of hiding their double life.

That describes my situation for several years. These double agents are not their by design. They lead double lives because they can't figure out how to get out. Because of family, friends, etc. it takes years to progress through a successful fade. In the meantime they are forced t lead a double life.
but how can you identify such a person???
I don't think you can. The only one who knew that I was no longer a "true believer" was my wife. She was not about to expose me because she had a vested intereste in keeping me close to friends, congregation, and family.

Although, as a kid I always liked the name "Gomer." I alway's wondered if she was really hot. How does one get the title "a wife of fornication?"

As boring WT articles go, from 1 to 10, this is a -1. And 2 more to go. JWs will think they actually studied the book of Hosea rather than the WT.
I used to dread certain subject in the Wt study. On the top of the list of dreaded Wt studies was the "Hosea" study. Boring, Boring Boring. For what ever reason I never liked the guy, Hosea. I never understood why he was so special that we had to study he life thousands of years after he died.

I addressed your issue in the last thread but let me add some additional comments. I live in the Heights in a building once owned by the society. It is a small building and not near the scale of the hotels and factorys owned by the society. When the society owned the building they paid zero real estate taxes. The bethelites who lived in the building contributed nothing or very little to the local economy. Currently our building pays about $150K per year in real estate taxes. As you can guess to live in this area all residents in the building have good jobs and pay significant state and local income taxes. In addition, we all contribute to the local economy by buying goods and services from local merchants.
Whle the society lives in the heights they have essential taken significant portions of the community away from the local economy. The fact that they have their own garbage trucks means nothing.

Thank you Barbara for leting us know about this news. The reason why this news is so big is because it provides a direction for future litigation. The above provides some background about the Tort of Misrepresentation. The "news" shows a big crack in the wall the society has built around the blood issue. Hopefully a few astute lawyers will take this information and run with it.

it's an up and coming area in which the society pulled building permits for 4 twenty story residence buildings with a connecting atrium and underground parking.
the permits were pulled last year about this time (much to the annoyance of the locals) and when inquiries were made of local bethelites the word on the street became "the governing body hasn't decided whether or not to go through with the project.
There was a swap-out of personnel from Walkill. It is my understanding that the computer operations moved to Brooklyn. But there is not much other activity in Brooklyn. Lots of empty space. The primary purpose of the Brooklyn staff is property management. They are in a continual mode of upgrading their buildings. The 117 Columbia Heights building is going through a major rennovation and should not expect to be completed for many more months. I am sure that when that is completed they will move to another property.

a few of the people that rent the homes( apartments ) from the WT
When the society bought the Bossert Hotel there were some people living that would not leave. Due to the rent control rules in NYC the society could not force these people out. They are paying rent control rates and will live there until they die. I don't think that they have any rent control tennants in buildings other than the Bossert.

Do they also have their own Garbage Dump? ; If so, where?
I don't the answer to that. May be someone can provide some insight into where their garbage goes. I live in the Heights and see their garbage trucks picking up Wt garbage on a regular basis. Also,if you are not aware they have their own ambulance. But I am sure that if is a real emergency they call a real ambulance.
