Christian vs non christian seems like a very narrow way to define the world. Is there a third option? How about a fourth?

Conventions are not legally obligated to let persons take these items unless the suggested contribution is made. When such surplus items
are liquidated, the total amount of the contributions received should be recorded in the "Other" column on the Receipts page (CO(d)-56a) with a notation identifying the item(s) in the "Transaction" column. This does not sound like a contribution. Sounds more like a "sale of excess merchandise." I wonder if the buyer has to contribute a required amount for sales tax collection?

Why is each talk 19 minutes? Why not 20 min?

Things JW's write: "It is reasonable to conclude"
by under_believer inquestion for y'all--do you think that the person on the writing committee who writes something like: "it is reasonable to conclude, then, <wild speculation>" suffers any kind of ill effects?
do they momentarily shudder?
do they even realize what they're doing?

Writers use words and phrases like probably, improbably, plausible, implausible, likely, unlikely, and reasonable to conclude when making inductive arguments. Inductive arguments are not valid or invalid, but we can talk about whether they are stronger or weaker than other arguments, meaning that they have substantial or little supporting evidence.
Using the term "reasonable to conclude" should be the beginning of the discussion. It becomes a hypothesis. Once a premise has been articulated then arguments should be made supporting or disproving the idea.
However, in Watchtower-ese once the term has been used what ever conclusion the society reaches then becomes doctrine.

Voting at meetings
by wozadummy inyears ago when i went to meetings there were announcements made about use of money ,whether to redecorate halls, send money to the society etc.
and i used to vote like everyone else looking around to see if there were any detractors.
well one day i had thought about the procedure and came up with this:.

I remember voting on meeting time. If I recall, the congregation had a choice of whether to meet on Thurs or Friday for the Ministry School and Service meeting. It was a close vote and the elders did not all vote in a block unit.

Even Bethelites serve on juries. It is officially a matter of conscience.
