Thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. So some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end.
That is conforting news. We must really be close because those people are really old.

If you are talking about the Plant City Assembly Hall. I used to go there when it was first built. But that was many years ago. Based upon your other post it does not sound like I can be much help.

I am not a big Mel Gibson fan. In addition, I rarely spend money at movies. If I said that I would never see another Mel movie I doubt that the world would be much different than it is right now.

When I was an active witness I was afraid that armageddon was going to come and I did not have enought time in field service.
Now that I am out, I do not worry.

The real impact of "apostate" sites
by dozy inin a recent discussion with a couple of district overseers and other heavies , the topic of the internet and apostate sites came up.
i asked what impact these were making , numerically , among jws.
the prevailing view was that , numerically , there was negligible impact.

It is hard to measure the impact of these sites because of the "fading" phenomenon. Fading may take years. What better way to find out how to fade correctly than sites like this. The more fading takes place the better people get at it. These COs can only guess how many amoung them are faders.
So, while there is no dramatic impact that can be measured month by month, the impact will be apparent five to ten years from now.

Looking for sources as to number who left JWs from 1975 to 1980
by cabasilas ini'm looking for sources as to the number of jws who left the organization from 1975 to 1980. i realize that the information can be extrapolated from the published statistics but i'd particularly like to find a citable source that gives the information, especially from the news media.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

What ever numbers you look at do not address specific issues:
How much of the growth comes from children of witnesses and how much comes from recruitment?
How much of the reported time is totally bogus and made up?
Until the numbers are audited from that perspective, they are meaningless

To all who still attend JW meetings

do you still put donations in the contribution box?
if you do and don't have an issue with disclosing, how much each month?

I have not gone to the meetings for several years. However, I was the account servant for many many years. What I discovered was that most people do not contribute. The money we received each month usually came from the same few people who contributed a significant ($100-200 per month) amount.
So if you were never one of those few contribitutors you are not missed at the hall.

Elders/MS, what would you do?
by Sacchiel ini understand there are active elders and ministerial servants on these boards.
if a witness spoke with you in private about doubts/questions they have about wts doctrine or the like, would you encourage that person to continue investigating?
what if that witness outright declared the organization as a wicked or not directed by god?.

The reality there are many elders and ms on this board. Each at a specific stage in the process of decoupling from the borg. I did my fade and posted on pre-JWD boards while still an elder and often wondered who else amongst me was in the same process.
