While I read the summaries, I may not always read them with the detail that they rightly deserve. However, I am sure that the lurkers in Bethel print, review, and document each word.

If it was arson, I think that is horrible. However, knowing how these structures go up, the cause is more than likely bad workmanship.

genesis doesn't suggest that they were specific time periods, but shows that one "day" extended into others.
i feel that the clue is in the words; "and there was an evening and there was a morning, a first day.
The 7,000 creative day was the framework the wt used to focus on 1975 as the date for Armageddon. I was supposed to be 6,000 years since the creation of Adam that plus the 1,000 reign of Christ was to make up the seventh day of god's rest.
Once 1975 came and went, the 7,000 creation day was forgotten.
talk was about appreciating jehovah's provisions, something like that.... the po gave the talk.
apparently, after the last co visit, our congo got a letter from headquarters, informing us that our numbers are wayyyy down.
several inactive publishers, several more irregular, poor meeting attendance, and our hourly average is less than the national average (8.3 compared to 9.9).

When the Truth book came out, I was all about production. I could sell a boat load of those 25 cent books. I never did any return visits, but I still had fun selling (ur..placing) those blue books.

There were a few times when I enjoyed service. However, 99% of the time I was just "puttin in time."
Then I discovered you did not even have to put in time and still have a reasonably respectable time card.

I was tricked for 40+ years to believe in a god that will kill 99.998% of the population because they did not go out and sell watchtowers. So, I was a fool.
I am SO angry about those lost years. So, if I don't give god the necessary attention now, let me apologize to you and anyone else that cares. I did my time.

i thought i'd share my experience as an elder dealing with abuse.. i attended 23 different congregations in my life and served as an elder or ms in 9 of them.
I was an elder for three years. Although I did not "handle" any molestation cases, there were three or four cases that I was aware of during my tenure as an elder. I am sorry to say that at the time I would have probably done exactly as the wt/legal department asked.
using various online databases i looked up what was available on ciro aulicino who is well known for getting the watchtower signed up as an ngo with the united nations.
the following information was returned.
note that his residences have all been at watchtower owned addresses.. considering his age, and dependence upon the watchtower for most of his life, ciro probably won't be considering any change in his relgion!.
he's kind of a loose cannon.
I was in the brooklyn heights hall for a while. This is exactly how I would describe him. He made some really off the wall comments. A few years after 9/11 when there was the whole thing with the asian bird flu epidemic. He associated the two and made the comment that "now we are certain that armageddon is near."
