How bad can you be in a short life span that deserves eternal hell fire? If Hitler burned for a million years for each death he was responsible for does he still keep burning after the time is up?

How many here (believers) believe in the Hell fire doctrine and why??
by jam init's obvious the bible is very clear on a actual hell of fire.
"cursed into the eternal fire with the devil and his angels", rev.20:15.
"lake of fire", rev.21:8 "fire and brimstone".

I wish them all well. They all seem like nice people. They are sacrificing a lot for their beliefs. I hope it works out for them.

A farce elder here
by His Excellency injust to share a little about me:.
i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .
makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

Mr Excellency, your story is similar to mine - I learned TTATT about six months before I was appointed an elder. I was really struggling with a lot of things, including my faith at the time. If the HS really was directing things I should have been passed over.

The assembly bean burritos were the best. Although. it made sitting through the afternoon session difficult (at least for those sitting in my immediate vicinity).
What? You say there are no bean burritos!? Curses!. Then there is nothing I like about being a witness. Bring back the bean burrito and you may see me at the next convention. You may also see a few empty seats next to me.

So Spill the Beans, Brothers: Were There More or Fewer At this Year's Bore-Fest
by steve2 inthe jw date-worshipped memorial has just completed its bleak worldwide commemoration.
that wasn't a dust cloud you saw; it was a millionfold hearts limply beating themselves into another round of great tribulation expectations.
i was knocked into a deep, deep sleep by the imagined experience of being at several thousand consecutive kingdom halls as the platformed drones spat forth the predictable sludge that, once released, hits and stains white clothing and bleach is useless.. we know that memorial attendance worldwide has dipped for two consecutive years since 2011 when it reached a high of 19,374,737 and for the promised land, obama's usa, the all time memorial attendance high was also 2011 when it hit over 2.5million (2,563,518) but shrunk in shame back to 2,502,055 in 2012 and spluttered upwards a handful or two to 2,504,114 last year.. so, what was attendance at the date-obsessed bore-fest this year in your neck of the woods?

I participated in counting a few times including memorials and circuit assemblies - this process is more an art than a science. I remember being told to count a specific section, when I came back no one could figure out who counted what. I have no idea if the section was double counted or not counted at all.
The physical act of walking up and down a row counting heads is not easy and is also very tedious. The counter usually comes up with shortcuts, which increases the speed but lowers the accuracy. I know I figured out how many seats were in my section and just counted empty seats.
Have anyone else participated in counting and realize that getting an accurate number is very difficult.

No wonder they hate apostates!!
by ILoveTTATT inbesides a cult, everyone knows the watchtower is a business disguised as a religion.
from a business viewpoint, i would certainly hate or lobby against those who dislike my product and warn other people of my product.. i made a calculation based on information from jwfacts, and the results are just astounding!.

Has anyone ever calculated the point in time when there are more "ex" witnesses than practicing witnesses? Perhaps we are at the point now, but no one tole me. Except for a few diehards my guess is that most of those coming in during the growth years around 1975 are long gone.

Male-dominated religions oppress women, Jimmy Carter says
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.clarionledger.com/viewart/20140328/feat04/303280035/religion-briefs-male-dominated-religions-religious-rights-jesus-crown-thornes-.
jimmy carter byline male-dominated religions oppress women, carter saysatlanta former president jimmy carter says male-dominated religions contribute to the oppression and abuse of women by twisting sacred texts to portray females as inferior to men in the eyes of god.. the 89-year-old carter makes that argument in his new book, a call to action: women, religion, violence and power.. in an interview broadcast on nbcs meet the press, the former president faulted his former denomination, the southern baptist convention, and the roman catholic church for denying women the same opportunities as men to serve as pastors and priests.. carter said some married men who belong to those churches conclude that their wives are inferior.. the catholic catechism and the 2000 baptist faith and message declare that men and women have different roles but are equal in the eyes of god..

I have gained to respect Carter post presidency, but he did some wacky things during his presidency. I read Edward Kennedy's biography, True Compass. He has some very enlightening things to say (none complimentary) about the Carter Whitehouse years. From Kennedy’s perspective, Carter was one strange cookie.
I was not that old, but I still remember his speech about the moral fiber of the United States. He just opened the door wide for Reagan to walk in with his morning in America theme.

Do/did you sing in the Kingdom Hall meetings against you will?
by Mr Fool ini m a little curious because i have hard to see that every single person has the interest to stand up and sing in the beginning and in the end of every meeting...... what will happen if you are interested in the so called truth, not to stand up and sing a song against your will?!
then, is it okay to sit down like normal when everybody else copy each other (stand up an sing a certain text/song) as parrots?.

During the last days of my time going to meetings I would either not sing, or purposely sing the wrong song - as loud as I could.
