It's obvious the Bible is very clear on a actual hell of fire. Matt.25:41

"cursed into the eternal fire with the devil and his angels", Rev.20:15

"Lake of fire", Rev.21:8 "fire and brimstone". So we are talking about

a hot place, OK..It's impossible to be burnt more then once, it's nuts.

But for sake of this discussion (not a argument) how can it be just to

send people to hell for eternaly for sins committed in a relatively brief

    time on earth?

An explanation I read for eternal torment..Sinners don't cease to be

sinners when they go to hell. To the contrary, they become even more

sinful in hell, since they lose all self-restraint in hell.

Again I must emphasize my Bible describes a very hot place, not a

place where you will sleep until resurrection..

The believers I know (family members and the churchs they

belong and all it's members) believe in the hell fire doctrine.

Oh please!!!! Are you serious??? It's all so ludicrous! What about the billions of Hindus, Buddhists, gay people, divorced people, etc. Do you seriously believe they are going to 'Hell' to be tortured forever????? If so, 'God' is a total homicidal maniac!

LOL!!! Navytown, I'm a nonbeliever. It is indeed ludicrous. I can not believe

people still teach the hell fire doctrine today.

I agree with the JWs on this one.

How bad can you be in a short life span that deserves eternal hell fire? If Hitler burned for a million years for each death he was responsible for does he still keep burning after the time is up?

fakefading: Yes I agree with you on that. Burning in hell forever didn't

sound too appealing. When they(JW's) told me you will sleep and no burning in hell,

I said hell yes that's for me. Little did I know about the other teaching.

The JW's and the Watchtower did not "discover" or "invent" the idea

of 'soul death' as the ultimate punishment "the soul that sins will die"

idea was being taght 40 years before Russell was born; by Adventists.

No hellfire is still a doctrine of the Adventists and most Christian churches

except the fringe fundamentalists believe Hell is a seperation from God.

So please don't give too much credit to the WT on this one.

I believe that there will be a lake of fire and eternal hell.

If the bible say there a special place for wicked, so be it.

Death seems so nice for Hitlers in the world. Hopefully there will be tormenting day and night.

It could just mean cleansing the earth and make it new again but maybe not.

If there are a couple of ways of viewing something it makes me doubt JW,SDA,Baptist, and Catholic doctrines.

Basically it is not something, I think too much about I leave "after life" to Jesus.

My friend's dad is a Buddhist and he's such a nice guy. Doesnt seem fair that he would have to burn forever because he chose a different religion.

    Forget about Hitler, that's a cop-out.

I am an ex-born-again christian. I have contempt for theism, I think the idea of Jesus dying for the sins of others is repugnant and I don't think Jesus was a good man. I am convinced he was an unethical, egotistical cult leader and false prophet.

I am a very loving, caring, selfless person.

Are you OK about me being tormented forever Sarah?
