This really felt great.Just a little memory.
by kairos inabout two years ago after i had resigned as a ms, two elders came by to "encourage" me.. the first line of questioning was if i still believed the gb was directing the org.. i asked him "not to interrogate me".. they tried to open to a series of scriptures.. i cut them off with this tasty zinger: "i'm not interested!"..
--.
they have not asked to see me since.. being direct has it's advantages.. .

"I'm not interested!". So when they left they marked their house to house record "NI."
You did them a favor, you gave them a means of classifying your status.

Every time I hear the term "special meeting" I have the urge to poop.
As we all know there is nothing "special." I have sat through enough special meetings to know that it was all a waste of time.

So, Terry, how do you get views from 1,000 to 7M? I would love it. What is the game plan?

I agree, what a wonderful lady. My favorite line:
"and by layed, I mean holding his hand after field service."
Actually ther are many others in this video. It is priceless.

I am confused on the JW's 1000 year reign doctrine. Please explain it to me.
by booker-t ini have always thanked randy/dogpatch for creating free-minds because i always felt i was the only one that felt that jw's were teaching some nonsense.
i admit i still think they got some of their teachings correct but one doctrine i think is full of bologne is the 1000 year reign doctrine.
if jesus came into power in 1914 and now it is 2014 does that mean jws believe it will only be a 900 year reign?

None of it makes sense, but we knew that. I recommend you spend time thinking about things that create value.

Life is short and I'm gonna love it thread!
by poopsiecakes inso what are you doing to enjoy yourself?
doesn't have to be for anyone around you, or have anything to do with jw world.
just something that you do for you and only you and that fills your soul (whatever that means).

My life is my "one shot" to do something great. I keep asking myself what I can do to create value for this world that extends beyond my life. I am not there yet, but I want to make an impact. May be that is an arrogant attitude, but it is what it is.
I probably did not answer your question, but I hope my life is more than just having fun watching Seinfield reruns in my underwear - even if it magic underwear.

Are you afraid something horrible will happen to you now you have left the Wt.
by Still Totally ADD ini remember many years ago we would talk about those who leave the org.
something bad will happen to them.
because god was mad at them for turning away from the wt.

It seems like the lifetime of drinking the Kool-Aid of JW.ORG has not flushed through your system. It will, just give it time.
I am not afraid - just the opposite. If you look at my profile you will see that I quoted a line from a John Lennon song: "Every day in every way is getting better and better." I don't cherish the idea of growing older, but I love the expectation of the future.

Do you remember the 15 minute break at the Sun. meeting?
by 3rdgen ina poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.
break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.
the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.

In the olden days we had our meetings at 3:00PM, thus meeting lasted all afternoon and we would not get home until after 6:00 PM. I think the Ed Sullivan show came on at 7:00, so there was always something to look forward to.
