Well said donuthole. In the good old days the GB could rant all they wanted about the most asinine things. Guess what, those days are over. The take away is that the world is looking in and laughing.

that's the word according to my mil.

mrs hoser is starting a new career and the college and work training will take her four years to complete.

her mom is giving her a hard time telling her that the system will be over before she graduates.

4 years from now is the perfect time period. It is close enough out that the end is still iminent, but far enough out that you don't have to be accountable for your prediction.

I remember more that a few similar conversations. Although, I remember the brothers use 2 years, not 4.

around a year ago, my elder dad got laid off from his job.

he worked as a auto mechanic making ok money.

Your parents are at what should be their peak earning period of their life. You may not want to accept this, but this is your problem.

You need to sit with them, make a budget and get them to understand the dilemma they are in.

i became employed with my current company after high school in 1995. i'm a manager and make decent income for the area i live ($65k).

it provides for the basic and some extra.

i have a wife and a daughter.

I have changed careers several times in my life. The process can be very positive. Healthcare is a great field. With your management background you will be on the path of a great future.

I love the metaphor, don't quite understand it but I love it. Did you lose your Big Mac on principal? In any event, I don't think I lost anyone on principal. If there were people I lost it was long before I had principles.
