99% of all funerals that i have attended have been the wt version, where they preach about the resurrection into paradise and say little about the person who passed other than they were loyal to jah.
the other 1% catholic for grandparents.. now that i consider myself an atheist, i got to wondering what do atheists plan for when they die?.
if you are a non-believer what are your plans for when you die?
I plan on living long enough so that my organs have no use for anyone else. In regards to a funeral, I envision a celebration of life.
I have read about atheist funerals and I get a sense that many are a positive experience. That is what I want, although expect to outliving all my friends and enemies so I am not sure who will remember me when the great day arrives.
i submitted a letter to the local k hall, explaining that i no longer believe my baptism as a jw is valid, based on my current bible knowlege.
and i wish to be no longer considered a baptised [in this organization], jw, but simply a christain who studies the bible.. and then would continue to attend meetings?.
they couldnt prevent me, its open to the public.. .
Why would you want to do that. Life is too short to was your time playing games with a cult.
i have been gone for about 5 years now.
and am making good progress towards building a network of friends, and outside activities.
it takes time though, and it has been harder than i expected.
Waiting to live is such a waste of time. I quit doing that years ago. We are on earth for a limited time wasting any minute is a minute that will never return.
so many witnesses lost the opportunity to pursue higher education in their youths.
perhaps it took decades for many here to leave and now feel it is too late.

In the 10 years or so that I have been teaching my oldest student was in his 70s. I have a colleague who is in his 80s and is working on completing his doctoral study. The good thing is he will not have to worry about paying off his student loan.
I am a firm believer in education as a life time pursuit. So, I have no sympathy for someone telling me they are too old to go back to school.

an elderly driver crashed into a park bench in mandurah, western australia today where 3 jws were sitting.
they had set up their jw cart and their literature was also strewn across the ground.. one of the jws was seriously injured with head injuries.. what a freak accident this is.. .

i almost wonder if some awakened, still-in, from this site is part of the writing department or illustrations and put that in there as an inside joke for us?.
It is fine being young and doing what it takes to earn a little money, but if that is your life's expectation - what a waste of the human experience.

Why are mustaches acceptable but not beards? What is the fixation on facial hair all about? Perhaps it can be traced to how they were potty trained... just a guess.
i have met many who i call " jehovers witnesses untill the day they die".
and i think one of the main reasons is jehovers witnesses do not wan't to change their living conditions.. i have reasoned that my motivation to awaken was i wanted to change my living conditions.. this motivation made me an enemy to watchtower indoctrination, which i now saw was blocking my energies for achiving my personal goals.
the " watchtower club" had now become my enemy.. i was now able to question the reationalism of watchtower doctrines, and i saw free discussion was not toletated.
If that is their choice it is not my place to attempt to change their minds. They will ultimately come to the realization that they will die a JW and all the promises are for not. But that is not my problem.

I do not want my 7 year old daughter taught goof-ball creationism concepts. I don't understand the connection to Satan. I don't think Satan believes in creationism.
