My Father was a CEO for a major oil company and we would get pitched by some Brothers with a business opportunity that needed capital to start. We never started anything with any business Start up.

Money Making Ideas
by LostintheFog1999 inwhen i was in i can remember reading wt commands not to use the brothers and sisters as an opportunity for business ventures.. i guess in hindsight it was because the wtc was already doing it and didn't want competition for the resources of income being limited.
in addition to buying all your own literature and magazines, who else remembers the book covers, notebooks, bookmarks, etc sold at conventions with the assembly theme stamped on the front in gold coloured lettering?
nowadays people claiming to be jws have oodles of websites selling all manner of goods to them, many infringing the jw logo.

disfellowshipped for having a personal opinion based on WT
by Leslie inin 2008 i was baptized into the truth after leaving a trinitarian faith.
during my eight years as a jehovah’s witness, i strived to keep the standards set by the bible, wt and the faithfull and discrete slave.
but unfortunately, the congregational elders from the kingdom hall i attended were not keeping to jehovah’s standards, hence, wrote my letter of resignation.

My family are nolonger Jw's. We Don't follow their rules or policies. Df'd ,Da'd, whatever! Yeah, we use to do that. But now we do what we want. Some old guys in Warwick are not going to tell us how to live.

Watchtower Museums
by eyeslice innow covid restrictions are over, they're pushing on with watchtower museums at many locations through out the world.. looks to me as if they'll be pretty boring.
a few old bibles and photos of the witnessing work from way back when.. one things for sure is they won't include anything relating to constantly changing doctrines or have libraries full of old publications that have since been swept under the carpet..

Who wants to see a bunch of Watchtower 's and Awake 's with the same crap in them and have to pay to see it? Not me, and not normal people.

What Percentage of active JW's are on Anti-Depressants?
by Sea Breeze ini came across an xjw post on redditt from a rn.
she states that nearly every jw she ever treated was on anti-depressants or anti-psychotic drugs:.
https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/f35vaa/just_about_every_jw_i_come_across_is_on/ i once read somewhere that 1 in 5 jw's were on anti-depressants, but i couldn't find any documentation.

boners by fine JWs

My first job was with a uber jwdub building construction contractor. He never paid me my wages, infact , he short changed me. Years went by and I got certified as an Structural Inspector. I found out that this guy was cutting corners on projects. You can say it cost his certification as a builder as the fines mounted. Not a good person.

What Would Grandfather Say Now?
by LostintheFog1999 inmy late grandfather believed he was one of the anointed.
that aside when asked about whether the jw organisation would last, he would pull out the attached wt magazine (the second edition) and say "if the day ever comes when the organisation asks for money outright, it will be proof that jehovah is not it's backer.
" that's how convinced he was that such a thing would never happen.. i often wonder what my grandfather would make of the modern organisation today..

Does becoming (or remaining) one of Jehovah's Witnesses result in Poverty? Pew Research results differ from Watchtower claims.
by Balaamsass2 in"raised in the truth" during the 50s, 60s,and 70s i repeatedly read and heard from the platform how reading the magazines weekly "was the equivalent of a college education" and how many had turned their family economic situation around by being "trustworthy" and giving up expensive bad habits most "worldly people" had.
sounded good.. what is the reality?
how does avoiding higher education, and then spending up to 20 hours a week getting ready for, commuting, and then participating in meetings and field service affect family finances?.

Magical Sky Daddy is going to provide for you, oh , please! Heard that so many times. Does it work? Nope. Only in Dreamland of some Jw's.
