   Having No Political Opinion Is Bull Crap

  hello, i'm ame and after such heartwarming feedback last time from my other topic sharing my current situation, i felt the urge to just share an experience of mine that accrued a few weeks ago.. i was at mcdonalds with my mother and little brother, eating our food and in the background was the news playing on the tvs they had in the dining area.

  and what were they talking about on the news?.

  gun control.. now, i love the news.

  Sweden. Guns are illegal in Sweden, but yet they have a higher crime rate than america.

  So you are trying to draw a comparison between Guns and Crime - you should draw the comparison between Guns and Gun deaths.
  If not your argument is the same as what the WT uses for Evolution (miss direction and a false question).

  Gun deaths in Sweden per 100,000 people is 1.47
  Gun deaths in the USA per 100,000 people is 10.57

  The USA has a 7 times higher rate than Sweden.

  Also the USA has 112 guns per 100 people where Sweden has 31 guns per 100 people.

  So your point on that doesn't make sense.

  By the way - check out Australia - it is a .93 x 100,000 and they used to be a country that had loose gun laws and changed all that in the 80's

  God does not desire any to be destroyed?

  so if the idea is promoted that god doesn't want anyone to be destroyed, why does he make it so confusing for people to learn about him?.

  why are there thousands of differing religions?.

  why has "his only true organisation" even taught so many varying doctrines?.

  You know if god really didnt want people destroyed - how about giving people a book that could not be interpreted 1000 ways by 1000 people, or one that actually makes prophecy easy to understand and recognize, or why not state something in there that would be indisputably be from someone who created the universe (the circle of the earth is the best you can do?)

  Or better yet - how about a Booming voice from the sky in every language saying - hey little ones - i'm god - please do this that and the other thing.

  Change(s?) to revised nwt

  i don't think this has been picked up anywhere yet.

  the revised nwt released in 2013 is already out of date.

  the second half of psalm 51:4 now reads "therefore, you are righteous when you speak, you are right in your judgment" in the online version where the printed version reads "so that you might prove righteous when you speak, and be right in your judgment".. fairly unimportant in itself, but i wonder what else has been changed without telling anyone..

  OverlappingGeneralizations3 minutes agoEver notice in the new "Silver Sword" that the page headings in Psalms, some say "Psalm" and some say "Psalms". Flip through, you'll see it. It just bugs my OCD, lol.

  It says Psalm when the page contains only 1 Psalm - it says Psalms when the page has more than 1 verse (or psalm) on the page.

  i was skimming through old numbers of the watchtower and came across this interesting bit.

  under the headline "ungodliness and discontent", the article claims:.

  "[...] we have more than once called attention to in these columns, namely, that the spread of education, and increase of wealth, are not tending to make mankind happier, holier or more content, but rather the reverse.

  - in which european country, not member of the eu, and well known for their banking industry, jw.org and some affiliated structures do maintain some business incorporated structures and companies?.

  - which is the purpose of these business and company structures?.

  just been thinking about the "persecution" video where the modern day "job" loses everything.

  here's an alternative narrative.. instead of turning down the salary job in the next town over, our hero takes the job even though it's a tough commute.

  he is still able to contribute in a meaningful way to his "ministry.

  Using the depression card: Only when critical to family?

  i just was reading a thread and it occurred to me that "using" depression as a way to deflect from wt obligations is a mistake.

  it feeds their sense of superiority-because when you do finally leave or get kicked out, they will say how leaving jehovah ruins lives.

  they won't do anything with you anymore in any case, but why feed their delusions?.

  what is “the end of the world”?the phrase “the end of the world,” which appears in many bible translations, can also be rendered as “the conclusion of the system of things,” or “the close of the age.” (matthew 24:3;english standard version) it refers, not to the destruction of the earth or of all humanity, but to the end of the framework of human society.—1 john 2:17.. conveniently leaving out that according to current numbers and doctrine, 8.000.000 people will survive at max.. technically is not a destruction of all humanity....but it comes so close it deserves to be mentioned.. of course it isn't mentioned, because that would sound so extreme, cultish and unkind.

  we wouldn't want people to get the right ideas about jw.organization now, would we?.

  Would you say that its easy for people to replace bad habits with good habits?

  GEEZE thats the best they can do?

  And really - "better is the end of a matter than the beginning?"

  Really - always - that's always true? That is an axiom for all situations all the time?
  Wow the bible is sooo insightful - it must be written by god.

  Just come to the KH and you will stop smoking and stop being Gay too!
