  i have been thinking about how the wtb&t society bullies all of its members into submission with the threats they use (by practice), i.e.

  “if you do this we will df you and you will be shunned”.

  “if you da yourself, we will make an announcement and your friends, relatives and family will abandon you”, etc.

  So instead of the JW liturgy that "Satan Lied to and Tricked Eve" God himself says that all Satan said was truthful.

  At this the serpent said to the woman: “You certainly will not die. 5 For God knows that in the very day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and bad.”

  Jehovah God then said: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad. Now in order that he may not put his hand out and take fruit also from the tree of life and eat and live forever,

  God also gave man a head start on WAR and KILLING by introducing the first weapon of mass destruction. The Sword! Now even in Star Trek they would never do that cuz it's against the Prime Directive.

  another thread on here made me think of it.. its a personal peeve of mine.. you bow your head in prayer and the brother says thinks like thank you for the lessons we learned today like bla bla bla and for that wonderful point about yadda yadda yadda.

  jehovah we know that etc etc etc therefore we must...well you get the gist.and on and on it goes.

  They should end each prayer with:

  "Thank you Jehober, even though we now know that the GB can be wrong when they explain the bible, and that what we believe today will probably be changed next week, so in effect we have had FALSE worship for 100 years running, we are still happy to give you our money, lives, and build the GB a great retirement complex."

  How many times jehovah is said in a prayer

  so there was this particular elder in my hall who when giving a prayer would say "jehovah" waaaay to much it was ridiculous, we ended up having a count every time he gave prayer, most of the time it was 15-18 but once he topped 20, if u say it out loud 20 times you'll see how weird it is, like when do you ever in a conversation say someone's name that many times in 2 or so minutes,!

  OMG! There are 2 elders in my hall (that I don't go to anymore) who said Jehovah all the time in prayer.

  It was so strange sounding, and odd, like maybe they thought god didnt know his name? If you did this in regular conversation the person you talked to would thing you were strange.

  "Hi Joe, you know I was thinking Joe I would like to do something nice. Joe I know you can help me Joe, but I want to know that you Joe would be interested. Now Joe I know that just because I ask you Joe to help, you may not do it Joe." And on and on.

  OMG!!! IT DROVE ME CRAZY.

  This week's bs, bible study help

  hi all , because i'm useless and can't be bothered studying, i need some rebuttals for the excuses given in this week's bs , (i love how the acronym matches its origin) my uber dub father pleaded with me to study this week's book study as it addresses my issues with them being directed by holy spirit etc and how jah reveals things progressively , problem is i know there's a great argument to put fwd with proper preparation but i'm onto my 2nd drink of the evening and can't be assed , please unload some smoking guns i can take with me tomorrow .

  Ask him WHY would god ever give his people WRONG information? Why would he reveal something he knows is wrong?

  Why did it take 100 Years to identify the FDS (the only important thing about 1914-1919? Would that not have been right from the beginning?

  If its progressive - why did some many things go back and forth?

  i think that few parts of the bible can make you atheist or at least agnostic or at least kill your belief in the bible as infallible or the work of a loving god as comparing 2 samuel 24 with 1 chronicles 21. most people focus on the 1st verse, but there are at least 4 major and 1 minor contradiction in the chapter (they are parallel accounts).in the new world translation, 2 samuel 24 starts like this:.

  24 and again the anger of jehovah came to be hot against israel, when one incited david against them, saying: “go, take a count of israel and judah.” .

  notice that it is an impersonal "one" who incited david to do the census.
