We are remembering that a CULT is not interested in any opinion other than the Cult Leader's - right?

How are midweek CLAM meetings solid spiritual food in ANY way?
by Isambard Crater inbesides the possibility that the theocratic ministry school was dropped to avoid the word 'school' appearing any longer for a.r.c child abuse reasons, the introduction of the new clam meetings for midweek has been one of the several main factors making me develop a repulsion for the jw.org religion.. okay, the watchtower study is fairly mickey mouse these days too, but the midweek meetings are truly awful and contribute to me feeling physically and emotionally ill, which i documented in my first post on here.. i'm quite a well-educated person and my job involves a lot of linguistic skill, thinking, communication, analysis, research, interpretation and presentation.
the clam workbook is patronising and like something even school kids would tire of.. after a long day at work, i don't like the idea of dragging myself off to a midweek meeting in the cold dark nights let alone any other time of the year, but it'd be far better if it was for more solid spiritual food.
somehow the meetings i grew up with as a child were more interesting.

So what's up with Gods Powerful Holy Spirit?
It's not up to the task? A few letters from JWs in the USA are gonna motivate the Kremlin to play nice?
I seem to remember an assembly a few years ago Expounding the Power of doG when it came to "Landmark" court victories with the Human Rights Court.
Did his holy spirit have an expiration date?
Our doG is a Weak doG - I guess.

Observations From an Ex-Elder Part 3 - Searching for the Lost Sheep
by doubtfull1799 in"what man among you with 100 sheep, on losing one of them, will not leave the 99 behind in the wilderness and go after the lost one until he finds it?
" - luke 15:4. disclaimer: by posting the following observations i am not complaining.

I have that Ironical feeling - Having been a long time elder and just faded away left me flabbergasted at how just about NO one reached out. Never even got email requests for Service Time.
And on the other side - SO Grateful for them not wanting to reach out at all.

Don't you think - being given the the scriptures you are suposed to comment on - and being given the questions and answers - and then just Parroting back those isn't Learning or of Value?
Isn't that the way they do it in Harvard?

Certainly they will take credit for these Bold proactive steps to protect children - unlike other churches and organizations.
There will be no mention of how they were forced to do this - nor that the 2 witness rule still will make this difficult.

Does Anyone Know The "Real" Attitude That JWs Have Towards "Inactive Ones"?
by minimus indoes the rank and file or the elders view us as disassociated or disfellowshipped or simply "weak" or possibly a "prodigal son" type?.

Yes we are ignored and viewed like we have the plague by the vast majority.
They might catch our cooties if they get to close.

If "the Truth" is the truth, why are witnesses so scared of research?
by stuckinarut2 init is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?
didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.
seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.

River flowing from the garden of Eden
by joey jojo inhey there.. if this point has been covered before please forgive me.. i have had the principles of noahs flood used by jw's to encourage me to attend meetings recently and this has got me musing about the flood....again.. genesis states that a river flowed from eden and branched out into four rivers, two of which being the tigris and the euphrates.. heres the baffling part; if it had never rained before, how is it that rivers existed before the flood?!!?.
a brief google search tells us that the euphrates begins its journey as snow melt and rain ( as most rivers do) in mountains in turkey.. ecc chapter 1 mentions the water cycle and describes the rivers flowing into the sea but the sea not becoming full.
how did it work pre-flood?

Yes just one of the 1000 + stupid religious contradiction in the bible.
But NOWHERE in the bible - NOWHERE does it say It never rained before the flood. NOWHERE.

Who can explain why the "Two Witness" rule is wrong, in the simplest term?
by DATA-DOG inwith all the legalese being tossed around, and the expert manipulation on the part of the wtbts, who can explain why the "two witness" is being perverted by the wtbts?
i don't care if you're a bible believer and want to approach this from a biblical standpoint, or if you simply use logic and reason.
how would you explain this subject to a j-dub, or even a non-dub?.

So how many people would you need to come to you that said - "hey Brother X just killed someone" before you decided to call the police?
