Gods Morality included:
Genocide, Rape, Burning people, Polygamy, Stealing, Slavery...
So whats so moral about god?
i'm sure most here who've questioned or left behind their belief in god have encountered this question - without god, what basis can there be for morality?
my exwife, when i admitted that i was an atheist, once asked me "if you don't believe in god, what's to stop you from going out and raping and murdering?
" previously, whenever i got this objection, i would tend to turn it around on the other person with a response along the lines of "if fear of god is the only thing that stops you from murdering, that makes me rather nervous to be around you.

i'm a current bible student of jw's looking to chat with someone about biblical doctrine.
i'm not interested in talking with an apostate or a fader, i'm just a person looking for answers and wondered if there are any neutral voices in this forum who have good insights into the bible.
i currently talk with a couple of jw's on a personal level from my congregation and they are knowledgeable to a certain extent, but i dare not ask them certain questions because, as you know, the congregation has a culture of fear that impacts trust and openness, especially concerning biblical doctrine or the societies teachings.
No - and I am soooooo embarrassed I ever did believe it. :(
in fact, only three books of the hebrew scriptures, 1 chronicles, job, and zechariah, mention satan, which means “resister.” why was little said about our enemy prior to the arrival of the messiah?.
3 apparently, jehovah did not want to give satan undue prominence by devoting large portions of the hebrew scriptures to discussing him and his activity.
jehovah’s primary purpose for inspiring that section of the scriptures was to identify the messiah and lead god’s people to him.. .
Oh, by the way, it's not like as if Satan is mentioned like 1000 times every meeting.
No god didn't want to give him any prominence:)

Well, really all that needed to be said about Satan was said by the great Jehober himself in Genesis.
Jehovah God then said: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad. Now in order that he may not put his hand out and take fruit also from the tree of life and eat and live forever,
Here the great Jehober lets us all know that Satan did NOT lie to Eve, and the plan the creator of all things needed a Plan-B asap cuz he F-ed up. :)
a very strange article, suggestive.. what do you think about it?.

I am surprised they keep reminding people that over 100 years have passed and nothing has happened.
has anybody seen the new online bible study yet, just posted yesterday i believe?
it's the first thing you see now when going to the home page.
the online bible study lessons on jw.org are free, have no obligation, and are easy to use.
They are about 5 years behind the Mormon Website.
4 years ago during the circuit overseers visit he asked a rather innapropriate question from the platform.
i say it's innapropriate because i think it's wrong to tell happy married couples how to love each other and much more wrong it is to tell them they should love their children less.. he said: "mothers, who should you love more your children or your husband?
" i think most mothers will quickly say you should love your children more.
Keep in mind - many COs have their own agenda and say what they want.
We had one who HATED Disney.
We had one who HATED Star Trek.
They made their feelings well know, though not sanctioned specifically by the GB.
can anyone remember or point me to a quote in either the watchtower or awake where they spoke adversely about some of the violent scenes in the original blade runner film.
.
thanks.
no.
i'm an atheist as i do not see any evidence for the existance of a god.
i encourage critical thinking in everyone and am ready to debate anyone on whether or not there is a god and what that god might be like.
hmu..
I firmly believe in Leprechauns.
I dare you to absolutely disprove them.
what is the difference (if any) between being guided by holy spirit and being inspired by holy spirit?
is it just semantics?.
Well - let me answer that this way.
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck. If a woodchuck could chuck wood?
