Yes - just say you don't feel comfortable. That's all.

Is it possible to decline preaching in the carts?
by Skepsis inhi folks,.
i have a difficult dilemma.
since i'm not pioneering any more, i'm reducing my hours wasted at that artifact known as cart or trolley.

A question for those who still go to the meetings
by no-zombie inand it is ... why do most at the hall prefer to sit at the back and leave front rows empty?.

Maybe some are waiting to be asked to go to the most honored seats in the front:)
But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, 'Friend, move up to a better place.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests.

So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?
by Simon init seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.
i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?
... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

WOW I am floored by the comments.
I guess the Misogynistic views pounded into us by the WT for 100 years are hard to excise.
I guess JW made these type of comments in the 60's about Dr King.
FYI you don't need a REASON that fits your narrow worldview to march in America, you don't need to have all 3 million + people feel the same way about any issue, you don't need to "first fix all other inequities" before you can march without idiot men telling women they are stupid.
In fact - you don't need a REASON at all! This is America.

Simon since you are obviously not a woman - and have no historical perspective of protests in the USA, I have to come to the conclusion that you are an ass.

What I miss about going out in service.
by compound complex inwell, very little, to be honest.
the structure and commitment of the ministry provided discipline necessary to my life.
therefore, i did it, as required, and felt some sense of fulfillment at the bible study stage.. i do like talking to people.

Coffee breaks and BSing with friends.
There is something nagging though about being part of some grand plan that is now missing.
That also made me feel better about having no other real focus in life. -

Life is changing for me: no pioneering, got a job!
by Skepsis ina month ago i decided to register in this board.
i had decided to step down pioneering but was frightened about the consequences.
i had finished my university degree some months before (despite disaproval from brothers in my congregation) and i had to choose: continue pioneering and working in jobs with no future or starting a career, working full-time.. i was thinking to postpone the decisiton but... i was fed up with preaching.

Tough spot I know.
One thing to keep in mind.
While you are going to meetings and getting slammed with the message that YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH - YOU DONT DO ENOUGH - and you ARE BOGGED DOWN WITH RESPONSIBILITIES - it is so much harder to step back and see all the BS you are surrounded with.Take the next step - is step down. Tell them whatever you think they will accept.
Depression and Anxiety always works!
You can also say that with your new job you just wont have the time and your service will go down to.
If they give you LIP about that say - Ok will you be willing to pay for my "Health Insurance" "Housing" or other expenses when I am short and when I grow older?
Take this opportunity before you WASTE more of you life doing NOTHING.
Take it from someone who wishes he had those years you still have back.

Random Thoughts on Getting Older
by Lee Elder inthe reality that all of us ultimately must face is that we get older and our bodies, and our minds eventually fail us.
i have seen this first hand in my family, in the jw community, and in the ex-jw community.
it is simply a sad part of the human condition, as is physical, emotional, and mental illness.

I must say the biggest thing I have a hard time wrapping my mind around is when I die my thoughts cease to existence. I am no more.
Amen brother - its alway on my mind. 2nd biggest thing is that I had so many years stolen.
