One other bad one for me (long list), was that I was doing work from a long time family friend who is a JW.
Well when the rumors (fueled by elders) started flying (again I had done nothing but not go to meetings), he made it impossible for me to keep working for him.
It was a major chunk of my income.
Still, have not recovered from that.

My fading suffered a miscarriage
by Ireneus ini thought of successfully fading out, but suffered a miscarriage last week.
i gradually decreased the number of meetings i attended.
in the latter half of the year it became once a month, then once in two months, once in three months ….. last week, two elders who visited me, after their bla..bla..asked: “where will you go leaving the motherly organization—the only truth now available on earth?”.

I am getting disfellowshipped
by CitizenofEarth inmaybe some of you remember me, maybe not.
for general information i am now 19 years old, and living by myself.
for the past 1 year (more like 1.5 years) i have been quietly fading out of the hypocrisy of this organization, but since i still live in the town i grew up in it has been hard, and filled with different challenges.

Will #metoo have an affect on forcing changing attitudes at Watchtower?
by jwfacts indespite decades of the feminist movement, watchtower's attitude of woman being inferior has changed little, with pauline sexism justified as inspired, on the basis that women are lesser emotionally, intellectually and physically.
jehovah's witnesses seem to accept this with little resistance.
is there anything about the #metoo movement that may wake followers up?

i bought an audiobook called "evolution: what the fossils say and why it matters" by donald prothero.
i heard it recommended on an atheist podcast that i listened to.

The funniest part was after his video came out with his CHART that showed the BIG A was way in the future, the next round of CO visits included a section blaming publishers for thinking that the BIG A was not, you know, next Tuesday.
It was their fault for paying attention to Splain and his magic chart.

Were visits to the library an important part of your childhood?

i remember how sad i was, as a little child, when our beloved carnegie library was razed (unsafe, structurally).
the same tragedy occurred when we moved to a new town and that similar architectural treasure was demolished to put up a new and gleaming building of steel and glass.

YES!!
I didn't go to our towns public library until a 4th-grade school trip there.
I loved the school library, but my parents were not really interested in my education.
When I was old enough to ride my bike, I was there all the time.
Not only was it this place of discovery, and new worlds, it was a place where I could meet with my friends and play games without "big brother" watching.
We would play role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, and Traveler.
Some of my happiest memories as a kid was being in my town library.Today, bookstores and libraries are my favorite places.
