Happy Birthday!
I am just a little older than you, and faded out over 2 years ago.
I enjoy my kids birthdays, but mine are just a reminder of time ticking away.
by the time i finish this post, i will have turned 50 years old.
i spent over 40 years of my life not celebrating my birthday, and it never seemed like a big deal to me.
three years ago, i received a cake and some friends sang "happy birthday" to me at a dinner party that was for a different event.

is it reasonable to have an invisible friend whom you have never seen and yet you talk to this invisible friend several times a day even though the friend has never talked back to you?.
is it reasonable for you to give your life to this invisible friend because a group of 8 men says that if you don't you won't live forever?.
do you thank your invisible friend every day for the food that he gives you, yet he doesn't give food to over 27,000 people a day who die the terrible death of starvation.
Would you still go in service if you didn't have to count time?
Good one. Yea when the CO visits :)
In paradise, if everyone is perfect and you want to play some baseball, will it be any fun to be the batter and never hit the ball thrown by a perfect pitcher with the perfect curveball. How much fun will it be to play basketball and never miss a basket?
I had this conversation many times when I was "in" - no one got it - not even understanding what "JW perfection was"
If you truly believe that everyone who isn't a JDub is going to die soon at the hands of God and you know how to save their life's, would you let these people walk by you while you are counting time for preaching without saying a word to them?
Number of excuses - "they all get their chance" but this shows how the VAST majority of JW really dont care.
every now and then i look on line for people i knew in the kingdum hall.
some are on social networks to a limited deg.
but a lot are not on the web at all.
I have not noticed that.
Only the older ones, but even they are using the web because the WT has forced everyone to have an iPad if they want to stay current.
i've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.
counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.
if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.
Nrs83 - dont bother! Get out and save your kid before to much damage is done!!
umm how do you think islands are formed to begin with?
!.
The Great Dog Jah blew is bad breath into a pile of horse crap and turned it into an Island. And it was good.

Trump and Rocket man meeting and they could declare peace and security
I'm sorry, were we at war with North Korea? Is that the conflict that has taken away peace from Asia, the Islamic World, Africa, South and Central America?

How many? 2,045,594 days?
i consider myself an atheist.
and right now i'm reading a lot on atheism in general (books written to answer creationists).. i'd be interested in knowing how you became an atheist after leaving the jws and how long did it take?
was it instant or did your belief in a deity gradually decline?.
To add to my comment, though there was a relief to realize there was not god, it has also come with great sadness and pain.
For one thing, I am not dealing well with the thought of blinking out of exitance.
The opium of the people does have one bright side, a hope for life after death is a great comfort no matter what anyone says.

I have always been into science but did my best to make excuses as to why evolution was wrong.
Things started to not make sense when it came to what the GB was saying, and overwhelming and indisputable scientific discoveries and data made it hard to ignore.
I learned much about how the brain works, and how much of what the WT has said was crap.
When all that started happening, the entire religious house of cards fell apart.
Its not just JWs - its ALL bullshit.
