  How do you feel about the elders?

  oh dear, i recently made a comment about an elder being dogmatic.

  and one of his best buddies sent me a wt article to help me realign my mind or something.

  this is where reality separates from fantasy and fiction.

  Atlantis An Elder and I received a BOE 3 days ago and the BOE was dated from 2017. A full year ago and we already have the BOE in collection.

  So I know they added extra security to the Elders only website. They now show logins so someone can see if someone logged in at a time that they didn't with their account, but I have a good PIMO friend who is still an elder and he has NOT seen OLD letters or what you are seeing as of yet. Also NO letters are coming in the mail for elders, they are all coming through https://apps.jw.org/

  I will ask again him about this the next time talk to him.

  Several Elders who are sending us letters are worried of (tracking codes) in the BOEs and are printing them out and then scanning them. This can make the ink quality weak at times. They believe by doing this a code would be deactivated.

  WOW - No I wasn't aware of that. I have a friend who is an Athiest elder and he has not heard about this practice.

  Also if someone just does a screenshot of a PDF there is no tracking code anymore if there is such a thing embeded.

  I can't imagine how much of a giant distraction a brother with a well-groomed beard would have in the Community!

  There is a surprisingly large number of JWs, even those at the top, who are convinced that all WTS buildings will somehow survive Armageddon.

  When I was fading - I had a friend who I had lunch with. I was feeling him out to see how much I could say.

  I brought up that I think it is strange that the GB are building a BIG NEW complex when they are getting rid of so many Bethelites.

  I also said - why are they adding this giant expense when they have so many buildings and SO MUCH LAND TO BUILD at the WT Farm?

  I also said it was strange how they have NEVER given a reason for the NEED for the of this complex. Why are we not told why it is needed?

  After thinking for a while - he said - I have heard that they feel this New Complex may survive the Big A, and that that is where Jahs Will for us will come from.

  I was like - are you saying that Jah cant save other buildings, or he cant communicate to other locations?
  

  Needless to say the conversation ended.

  Birthday

  by the time i finish this post, i will have turned 50 years old.

  i spent over 40 years of my life not celebrating my birthday, and it never seemed like a big deal to me.

  three years ago, i received a cake and some friends sang "happy birthday" to me at a dinner party that was for a different event.

  I am just a little older than you, and faded out over 2 years ago.

  I enjoy my kids birthdays, but mine are just a reminder of time ticking away.

  Questions for JDubs to think about

  is it reasonable to have an invisible friend whom you have never seen and yet you talk to this invisible friend several times a day even though the friend has never talked back to you?.

  is it reasonable for you to give your life to this invisible friend because a group of 8 men says that if you don't you won't live forever?.

  do you thank your invisible friend every day for the food that he gives you, yet he doesn't give food to over 27,000 people a day who die the terrible death of starvation.

  In paradise, if everyone is perfect and you want to play some baseball, will it be any fun to be the batter and never hit the ball thrown by a perfect pitcher with the perfect curveball. How much fun will it be to play basketball and never miss a basket?

  I had this conversation many times when I was "in" - no one got it - not even understanding what "JW perfection was"

  If you truly believe that everyone who isn't a JDub is going to die soon at the hands of God and you know how to save their life's, would you let these people walk by you while you are counting time for preaching without saying a word to them?

  Number of excuses - "they all get their chance" but this shows how the VAST majority of JW really dont care.

  Ever notice a lot of JWs stay off the grid?

  every now and then i look on line for people i knew in the kingdum hall.

  some are on social networks to a limited deg.

  but a lot are not on the web at all.

  I have not noticed that.
  Only the older ones, but even they are using the web because the WT has forced everyone to have an iPad if they want to stay current.

  Withdrawing community support in the congs

  i've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.

  counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.

  if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.
