Proof of God
by MrDantastic ini'm an atheist as i do not see any evidence for the existance of a god.
i encourage critical thinking in everyone and am ready to debate anyone on whether or not there is a god and what that god might be like.

I firmly believe in Leprechauns.
I dare you to absolutely disprove them.

Holy spirit
by mrssauk inwhat is the difference (if any) between being guided by holy spirit and being inspired by holy spirit?
is it just semantics?.

Well - let me answer that this way.
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck. If a woodchuck could chuck wood?

JW broadcasting July 2018
by dozy injust skimmed through the latest broadcast.
( yes - i know , i should really get a life!
a lot of it seems to be regurgitated videos from previous months.

Dozy - great point!
Doing research would be finding many sources to draw conclusions from - Cults ALWAYS refer you to their own literature.
This accomplishes the goals of - making people feel empowered (when the opposite is happening) and reemphasizing the party line over and over.
The added bonus of taking up more time that 'friends' could be using doing worldly things.

Blownaway - does it take FAITH to say that Thor, Leprechauns, and Mermaids don't exist?

Are we losing our way a bit at JWN?
by nicolaou infirstly, i want to be crystal clear how grateful i am for jwn.
it's been my place of support for over seventeen years and it's the first online space i direct anyone to if they are taking steps out of the cult.
i am not bashing jwn - i love this place and appreciate the hard work and expense simon puts in to keep it going.

Good for you. It will get easier.

I wish we could just all abstain from politics and stick to the cult issues.

The "Whole World" was flooded??
by stuckinarut2 inso, jehovah's witnesses and many other biblical literalists think that the "whole world" was flooded during noahs day.. they take the "accounts" in genesis literally.
so that means that areas as far away as australia, russia, argentina, greenland, antarctica were all visited by noah and his family to gather animals and preach before it happened right??
they then took everything back to the middle east to board the ark...uh huh.... yet, the same expression in the bible for the "whole world" is also used in the account about the "worldwide famine" in josephs day!
-
ttdtt
Dude you dont have to go into the wording.
It is absolutely physically impossible for there to have been a global flood as described in the story book called the bible.
There are HUNDREDS of reason that make the account as credible as Jack & the Bean Stalk.

Has Your JW Background Benefited You In Any Way?
by minimus ini would like to think there was some good that resulted from our being a witness at one time..
-
ttdtt
No.
Any small benefit, I would have had 10 fold if I had gone to college and just had a normal life.
And the negatives are mountainous.
