i noticed a young brother with a beard being given more privelages within our hall.
when he first grew his beard, he lost his privelages.
but more and more recently he has been helping out a lot more.. the cobe is old school and a stickler for rules, but with the hall becoming more empty these days, and the need for young brothers, he seems to have relaxed on this particular watchtower/man made rule.
And no, I still haven't figured out how the quotation of someone else's comment works on here.

"A brother lost privileges of field service in a hall in my area. If he shaves he can go out otherwise no privileges"
@ Faith No More, that's REALLY odd. I was specifically told by TWO CO's that my service privileges WOULDN'T be affected. Sounds like the Elders in the bearded guys congregation REALLY believe they have authority outside of the Hall's 4 walls!
on another thread, undercover suggested "adam and the dinosaurs".. i came up with these:.
green bible dinosaurs.
jezebel and the fornicators.
Jumpin' Jehoshaphat
my stepsons, aged 12 and 13 are proud to be the first boys in their school with facial hair, and are choosing not to shave it "because it's my choice!
" much to their jw mother's chagrin.
i am so proud of them for standing up to their mother, but if they want to shave later on it's their choice.
Well, I don't know exactly where you're from (I don't need to know), but around here, there's a growing number of brothers that have beards. My congregation doesn't seem to mind me having one. If they DID mind, oh well, they shouldn't have one. I hope it's an indication that the rank and file brothers are waking up to the mind control.
ok, so hot on the heels of the announcement at the agm, we have been told that there are probably only 12 magazines left!.
yes, there will be only 3 wt each year, and 3 awakes.... and that they will do this for two years, then reprint those issues.... so yes, the "abundance of spiritual food" is limited to 12 more magazines..... surely, this is proof of the end coming so soon!?!
😉.
At least now, I won't feel guilty about not having read any of the "public" version mags in a mad rush on a Saturday morning before the ministry.
i thought i would run a new kind of topic.
watchtower policies versus the bible .
to start off with.
Yep. In jdubland, you gotta jump through hoops on many things. Strict rules that prevent individuals from moving on or at least slows down their progress. It even puts 'many' off.Let's not forget the "hoop" of not being able to raise your hand to answer AFTER you've been reinstated!
i want to know the latest trend in jw land.
after i have disassociated from jw land last year, now my father has forced me to write a reinstatement letter.
and i will soon be reinstated back very soon because those cult elders will meet with me.
i never understood why the society was against beards or goatees but completely okay with mustaches.
what's the difference?
facial hair is facial hair, whether it's above your lip or around your cheeks or under your chin.
"Wheres that from? Beards aren't permitted in the States"I was told the exact same thing. So, what did I do? Ask the elders, got their input (they didn't understand the problem either), then grew my beard. The congregation is mostly ok with it. For those that aren't, not my problemo.
