For the US, I predict an increase in publishers and increase in pioneers, decrease in congregations and decrease in number baptized.

Are the statistics out yet?
by slimboyfat inisn’t it about time they released the report for the service year?
or have they stopped publishing it?
did they released selected figures at the annual meeting as they usually do, such as the memorial attendance or record number of pioneers?

Museum Pic
by peacefulpete ina lot of ink has been spilled on the topic of the cross.
the wt felt it had uncovered some deep conspiracy when they found a number of words were used to describe how jesus was understood to have been killed.
there was an extensive thread many years ago that in short strongly supports the conclusion that at least some nt writers envisioned a cross, while others had a tree in mind.

I've always maintained that the primary reason the anti-cross doctrine was adopted by Rutherford was to distance the Watchtower-aligned Bible Students from the breakaway 'evil slave' Bible Students. One of their characteristic beliefs was the cross, and use of the cross and crown lapel pin as an identifier.

I looked around their website a bit and didn't find anything. If it is there it isn't obvious. Nowadays they could throw some numbers into a video in a way that is unfortunately not searchable.

I haven't seen any updated reports yet today, but CBS is reporting there were 'three incendiary devices found' at the scene. At least one window was obviously broken out in one of the photos. Early news reports often have the details mixed up. One news video showed a street interview of a neighbor who said he heard gunshots at 7:30 am, which doesn't seem likely at a KH; maybe he was mistaken about the time.
I am upset by this story and will be very interested in knowing the backstory.

I cannot help but wonder if there is any connection to the recent KH raid in Teller County Colorado:
The two locations are 70-80 miles apart, so it could be an unfortunate coincidence.

A related question to the OP is:
Who can be disfellowshipped?
One must be a member to be disfellowshipped.
How do they identify a member?
Only if a person is baptized, not whether or not the person is an active publisher.
But they define a JW as someone who reports preaching time, regardless of whether or not the person is baptized. The reasoning seems contradictory to me.

JW's & "pagan origins" teachings.
by BoogerMan inthe cult demands that the "sheeple" avoid anything which has "pagan origins," so for consistency, the wtbts should come clean and abandon the use of the pagan gregorian calendar, and adopt the biblical hebrew calendar.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/gregorian_calendar#months.

As I understand it, the government support of religions in Norway came about in a roundabout manner. At one time there was a single state-supported religion, but at some point the state support was expanded to other religions and the government money (through taxes) began to be distributed proportionately to all the registered religions based on each religion's membership numbers. To qualify, a religion had to register and to meet the legal qualifications defined in the law. One of the legal requirements was that the members have to have the freedom to leave one religion and join another without penalty or repercussions. JW's disfellowshipping fails this test, the goverment claims, so the JWs registration has been removed. Especially galling is the fact that minors are baptized, become members who are counted in the totals (hence more money to the JWs), but cannot leave without being penalized by disfellowshipping.
