I always thought of a crocodile being a bit like a dinosaur itself. The surprising thing is that the croc is so little changed over all the millennia.

Awesome! I find it curious that in a short 22 minutes, he hit on three things I hold dear.
The HG Wells short story about the blind, I read that and remember talking about it with my mom. I had forgotten who wrote it ( I would have guessed Bradbury) but it was a memorable story.
I desire mercy and not sacrifice. One of my favorite quotations.
My yoke is kindly and my load is light. Also one of my favorites.
Bravo, I hope this brother is still doing well.

Biblical Anachronisms in JW Literature
by neat blue dog inin a recent post ffghost made a comment about how they're always inserting modern concepts into biblical narratives to make it relatable to jw's organization.
here are some that come to mind:.
- the capitalized term "governing body" when referring to the older men in jerusalem (really just another group of christians that paul outspokenly disagreed with and didn't look to for approval).

Just thought of another one, though the JWs might not be the source of it.
In Revelation, the explanation of 666 being the 'imperfect' number of 6 repeated three times is anachronistic. The Greek text represents the number in three distinct words for 'six hundred', 'sixty', and 'six'. This reflects the way arithmetic was done in the Roman days. None of the first/second century readers of Revelation would have thought of the number six hundred sixty six in terms of the numeral 6 repeated three times.
The arabic numeral system of using the placement to represent the order of base 10 (ie the first digit to the right is the 1's, the second digit to the right is the 10's, etc, was invented well after the time of Christ. This invention was a great leap forward in making computations easier which we take for granted, but before that it was pretty difficult to do basic math.

Snakes walked on legs till the Eden curse Watchtower belief till 1974!!
by Witness 007 inwatchtower 1964 page 352 "....before god cursed it the snake had legs that elevated it off the ground.
god transformed its body so that it ceased to have legs and could move on its belly.".
book "gods eternal purpose"1974 - "god did not put a curse on the whole serpent family...it had only been victimised by satan...".

I think it fair to say that the JWs got the snakes-with-legs belief from the general religious beliefs in the 1800's, which Creationists still believe.

Japan closed 638 Congregations why??
by Witness 007 injapan had huge publisher growth till the year 1998.. 1998 - 222,912 publishers 3802 congregations.. 6 years passed.. 2004 - 217,555 publishers (-5,357) 3,164 congs.
what was the reason?
"this generation of 1914" failed doctrine or the internet..

A quick look at the population figures, for 1998-2021, approximately with rounding of numbers
Population -0.8%
JW publishers -2.4%
JW congregations -16.8%
Apparently the population of Japan peaked about 2009-2010 and has been declining ever since. The JW decline is outpacing the general population decline

Showing Jesus and the apostles as white men. Of course the WT is not the only religion guilty of this.

Showing groups of first Century Christians in which reading from a codex or scroll was common. This implies a few things which are anachronistic. That the majority of people were literate (most were not) and that possession of a scroll or codex was common (being copied by hand, they were quite expensive and out of reach of most of the populace)

I seem to remember that one of the GB members had a Mormon background, but for the life of me I cannot remember who it was. It was discussed on this board at the time. I don't know if it was Morris or not.

My JW-pioneer wife seems to like the zoom witnessing. They just spend about 3 hours in the morning chatting on zoom about whatever they want while copying out a type of form letter in longhand. Utterly a waste of time, but I don't hear any complaints about it. -
