Thoughts on annual meeting “new light”
by FFGhost inso, i finally saw the annual meeting video part 2.. this is the one with the “new light” on who might survive armageddon, vs. those who do not.. in summary, for those of you fortunate enough not to have to sit through it, it’s something like this:.
old light: once the “great tribulation” starts, that’s it for non-jws.
the “door of the ark” is closed.

Joe134cd attends a Jewish Synagogue
by joe134cd inok just reviewing my sabbath attendance at a jewish synagogue.
the service was 95% in hebrew.
i think the observation that jesus made about them been more concerned about the traditions of man than the word of god, still stands true to this day.

I once attended a Bat mitzvah (when a girl comes to legal age) in a Reformed Jewish synagogue. Well attended, lots of younger folks (maybe because of the event). About 5O% in Hebrew, some delightful music. My aunt’s husband was Jewish and I got probably my first and only chance to attend synagogue. Overall it seemed pleasant.

by pepperheart2 inon the watchtower website it says that most of the work that will be done fishkill will be out sourced to non jws .i thought that jws always used to build everything them selves.
this might explain what happend to ramapo they put an appeal out for free labour and people said no .

Concur with SadE that the WT generally has had outside contractors do some of the work, particularly any steel work. Partly due to the unions. I think some of the site prep work also, though I might be mistaken on that. The JW volunteers have usually done the interior work after the shell is up.

I concur with those who see nothing beyond a simple table for a stage setting. Since video/zoom is a large part of the meetings, the triangular table allows the two participants to face more in the camera's direction. TV programs do a similar thing when people are sitting at a table.

Door to Door Witnessing Anxiety
by NotFormer init's not only the jws who do door to door witnessing.
the independent baptists for the most part have "soul winning", mainly door to door witnessing and leaving tracts, as a tennet of their faith.
this discussion is interesting:.

The door to door work will fade into oblivion with the 'check-the-box' change in reporting. A few diehards who might actually enjoy it may keep it up, but 90% of the people will find another way to check their box.
