I don't have a lot of advices for you but I can tell you that I became an atheist too, after many researchs. In the beginning, I was more like an agnostic (someone who believe there is no way to proove if god exist or not) but now, I recognize that this way of thinking is like "magical thinking". If we can accept that there may be a god somewhere, whitout any good proofs, we could also accept that Santa Claus exist and live in the north pole... Althougt we don't have any proofs of it.

Dont walk on the grass.New system rules.
by sleepy inwhat rules do you think we would have had in a watchtower run new system?
when my local assembly hall was built it had grounds around it , which had a very large amount of money spent on them.brothers would come every week to look after them.you would think then that you could have a taste of the new system in these surroundings.the assembly hall with its large gardens could be a glimpse into the new system.the brothers and sisters just like the cover of the paradise tract sitting on the grass.but you havent bargined of the insanity of watchtower rules.we were told dont walk on the grass.
now why in gods name build an enormass garden around the assembly hall only to be told you carn't use it?all you could do was stand on the concrete pathway and look.

"I remember as a kid that we were told that we would speak only Hebrew and that we would have to learn it or be left behind. All other languages would become obsolete. I think some wanted to even go ahead and get a jump start on it and learn some before the big A. As a kid, I absolutely dreaded the idea of learning Hebrew. It scared me to death to think that I might not be able to learn it well enough to be included in the new system."

Would You Go To A Seminar Exposing The Society's "Secrets"?
by minimus ini was sent a letter stating that on friday august 27, 2004, there will be a seminar exposing the watchtower society's history and secrets.
during the program, they will have a guest speaker telling his story as to how he was abused by a governing body member at world headquarters.
another will testify that he was about to be appointed a ministerial servant while carrying on in an adulterous relationship.......besides exposing the "secrets", the letter says they'll be exposing the occult connections of the society, the mental manipulation and mind control, even elevated anxiety and mental illness amongst jws.

I don't think that I would go to this kind of seminar. Personnally, I think that it's time to move on and I won't waste my precious time with something related to the Watchtower. I already wasted too much time because of the Jehovah's Witnesses

Interesting Quote....
by TallTexan ini ran across the following quote in tom clancy's "rainbow six" and thought it interesting...druids had been pagans...and to which human lives had been sacrificed.
that had doubtless been a measure exercised by the priesthood to maintain their control over the peasants...and the nobility too, in fact, as all religions tended to do.
in return for offering some hope and certainty for the greatest mysteries of life - what happened after death, whty the rain fell when it did, how the world had come to be - they extracted their price of earthly power, which was to tell everyone how to live.

Yes, of course really interesting

What they are not saying is that, we're going to move to a different economy than the economy of petrol, sooner or later as the price of this ressource become higher. There's a lot we can do to reduce our consommation of petrol but presently, we don't really care about it because it's still easy to get gas in our car, at a fairly low price. By example, we could possibly extract biodiesel from a fast growing algae: http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/05/25/1838201&mode=thread&tid=126&tid=134 and there's more about alternative energy here: http://www.geet.com/ ... I don't say that the transition will be easy, but it will come naturally when it won't be economically viable anymore to use petrol.
