  "What, then, did the expression “despicable fool ” signify? The word used here sounded similar to a Hebrew term that means “rebellious,” or “mutinous.” It designates a person as morally worthless, an apostate and a rebel against God. So the person addressing his fellow as a “despicable fool ” is as much as saying that his brother should receive a punishment fit for a rebel against God, everlasting destruction. From God’s standpoint, the one uttering such a condemnation against another could merit that severe sentence—everlasting destruction—himself.—Deuteronomy 19:17-19."

  Notice that calling someone a "despicable fool" is equated to calling them an "apostate"!

  " In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ warned his followers: “I say to you that everyone who continues wrathful with his brother will be accountable to the court of justice; but whoever addresses his brother with an unspeakable word of contempt will be accountable to the Supreme Court; whereas whoever says, ‘You despicable fool !’ will be liable to the fiery Gehenna.”—Matthew 5:22."

  Do you still say JEHOVAH when scared to chase away the demons?

  i was scared stiff of the demons all of my life growing up as a jw.

  you know the stories.

  i am way more open minded now that i have been out for 3 years or so.

  My heart was pounding man... I was in a VERY calm relaxed state. Then BANG! Within a NANO SECOND I put hypnotism together with demons (in my head) and I think this little trick worked way better than expected on me. It was crazy... I said it more than three times and I started praying out loud holding my wife while she kept saying Jehovah. This was no small thing... Then... after I calmed down and was brave enough to go back to my computer and watch it again, I couldn't stop laughing at what happened. I did honestly feel this prank could cause heart failure so I did report it to youtube

  That is a GREAT point Paul (jwfacts) But we all know what we were taught to say. It is a REAL hard habit to break. i wonder how many who have been out a long time and do not believe still do this.

  I was scared stiff of the demons all of my life growing up as a JW. You know the stories. I am WAY more open minded now that I have been out for 3 years or so. A few months ago I decided to look into hypnotism on youtube. I found this one that said something like "works every time"... (sorry, can't remember) and I was really getting into it... Felling REAL CALM and RELAXED... watching the screen in a total trance like state... Then all of the sudden... SCREAM BLODDY MURDER with a red demon like clown face SCREAMING VERY LOUDLY came up! I jumped up yelling, "JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH!!! My wife comes runing yelling, "JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH! WHAT HAPPENED? WHAT HAPPENED? WHAT HAPPENED? After I calmed down I could't stop laughing... I got pranked... This could have given me a heart attack!

  Help! I'm having serious thoughts about going back

  hello old friends, i've been thinking about going back and need you all to give me your thoughts on it.. the last year has been a horribe one for me, in the span of less than a year the following things have happened to me:.

  lost my mom to cancergot hit by a carhad a professional set back that will cost over 600k to resolveended a three and a half year relationshipit just feels like every time i think things are going to get better something else hits me and knocks me down, a small part of me wonders wether i brought all these things on myself because i left the organization (yes i know how silly that sounds) and i have given serious thought about going back.

  i need you guys to talk me out of it!.

  Yes you should go back! We all should as a matter of fact! Didn't you know that JW's never die of Cancer? They never get hit by a car... The never have professional setbacks... and their relationships last forever!

  Uhhhhhh wait a dog-gon-minute... Thats after the big A when we all have our pet lion.

  It's ok lol, we were all raised to be superstitious

  I hate to admite it but if I get startled at night I will still yell out "JEHOVAH" to scare away the demons I have been deathly afraid of all my life.

  Magic Mountain and Disney Land soon to be off limits to all JW's!

  the truth is almost every jw has been to magic mountain or disney land/world.

  we went in large groups when i was young.

I am happy about the new "Sparlock" video the dubs just put out. Sure I feel bad for those who let man control their conscience and the children who are raised by cult followers as I was. However, I think in the end, this video will be a wake up call for many. The GB are very sly indeed. They don't come out and say "Christians do not go to Magic Mountain or Disney Land." If they did, many would say they had enough. This new video will push many away IMO. Thats my 2 cents

  i go to aa and there are a few who believe medical marijuana is an "outside issue" and they are ok with it.

  i don't know... alcohol doesn't work for me but if it did, i would use it... i wish i could find a "new drug" that works lol.

If poison ivy did any good for people then what would be wrong with eating or smoking it? Who has the right to decide these issues? It doesn't matter what it is on this planet... if it will do something for you, people are going to eat it even if it is bear crap found in the woods lol.

  @ James,

  I am not asking a moral question. I am not asking if it should be legal through out the world. I am asking those of you who might have used it, how does it work for you? What is your opinion on a alcoholic using MM?

  As far as people calling recreational pot "medical" I couldn't care less. In my opinion, it is those who sit in judgment who are the hypocrites.

  I am hoping to hear from people who have tried it or do use it. I want to know the effect it has had on your life. If you have not used it but have a true life experience then please share. Speculation from people who are judgmental and have never tried it doesn't interest me. Pot smokers talk as if pot is a gift from God, a plant made to do what it does. I want to know your opinion, do you think that is true or does pot do damage to those who use it?
