Isn't that really the cross of Osiris? Is there a record of any Christian house having a shrine with a cup offering? that would not comport with the command to "flee from Idolatry."
I think this is wishful thinking.

A Question For The Scholarly Re Gilgamesh
by jonahstourguide inhi all.. read this article re the gilgamesh clay tablet.. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-09-21/us-returns-gilgamesh-tablet-to-iraq/100478858.
how does it impact the dating of the biblical flood?
it seems earlier.. i am going to do some research myself to make a comparison.. it's interesting as i have not previously heard of the tablet but have heard of the.

This is way outside my field of study. But my thought, for what it's worth:
There is no way to successfully date the Biblical account and the various flood myths. All dating is based on speculation and on preference.
Could the 8 survivors noted in the Genesis story refill the earth? Given prolific reproduction [no birth control is a factor here], yes. Whether that could happen in the short time the Bible seems to allow, I do not know. That would take some mathematic calculations based on tones of guess work. But I think you could construct a model of population growth over time. Anyone truly ambitious?

Are JW Masters of Deception?
by Iamallcool inwe do know that many of them are masters of deception!
can you give us some examples?
i notice that some worldly people think jw are very honest people but we know better than that!

Under educated, maybe sometimes. Full of nonsense? Often. Not scripturally literate. But committed to their belief. Masters of deception? Not masters of anything. I think.

Is most of the promotion of creationism, not just that by the WT, charlatanism?
by Disillusioned JW inis most of the promotion of creationism, not just that by the wt, charlatanism?.
https://www.fullmoon.nu/sources.bak/chapter%2010/part%202/gish%20exposed.html [which has an article called "creationism: bad science or immoral pseudoscience?
- (an expose of creationist dr. duane gish)"] says the following.. 'a look at the "scientific" creationist movement and a close examination of the tactics of a well-known and influential creationist will reveal that the creation "science" movement gains much of its strength through the use of distortion and scientifically unethical tactics.. .... with the facts explained and the lawsuits won, scientists declared victory and returned to their labs and offices.

I've read Ronald Numbers' book on the subject, and I recommend it in this context. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Creationists

From Paradise Lost To Paradise Regained: Is the WTS the sole promoter of this doctrine?
by Pallbearer inhowdy folks,.
i am interested in learning whether or not the watchtower society is the only religious entity that teaches the "from paradise lost to paradise regained" idea.. the "idea" is that god's original purpose for man and the earth has not changed.
god purposed for adam and eve and their offspring to reproduce and fill the earth and live forever upon it; but the problem of sin entered into the picture and temporarily interrupted that purpose from being completed.

From Schulz and de Vienne, Separate Identity, vol 2:
"Historic Millenarianism was defined by Norman Cohn in his 1957 work, Pursuit of the Millennium, as the belief held on the authority of Revelation 20:4-6, that after his return Christ would establish a kingdom on earth and would reign over it for a thousand years, followed by a final judgment. Cohn characterized the salvation doctrine of early and medieval millennialist sects as collective. Salvation was to be shared by the elect as a corporate body. It was “to be realized on this earth and not in some otherworldly heaven.” Deliverance was imminent and total, “so that the new dispensation will be no mere improvement on the present earth but perfection itself.” Ultimate salvation, deliverance from this evil world, would be by divine not human means. There were and are variations among millennialists, but over time this is the pattern followed by most who wished to adhere closely to New Testament doctrine. It is with minor exceptions Watch Tower faith in the Russell era."
