  Mr. Fat has a very short memory, since it was he and one of his playmates that attacked my mother's academic credentials and those of Uncle B. And then suggested that I was Bruce's avatar on this message board. I have had no respect for him since his attack on my mother, my uncle and then on me. One can wish I was more polite, but I see no basis for it.

  And he skips over the facts about the three articles to which R. Franz contributed. Franz tells us in Crisis of Conscience that he did not write the articles from scratch, but that he based them on someone else's work. What Franz contributed is gone, replaced with what was initially contributed and the work of a later watchtower writer. That parts of the original articles persist in Insight is not proof of Mr. Fat's position.

  What's wrong with this board? As far as Uncle B is concerned, it's an apostate site. As far as I'm concerned, many of the posts are ill considered.

  I should reiterate that Franz did not start fresh. If you recall, Knorr handed Franz and his team a pile of already written material. If their additions (and one can presume corrections) were removed, some words would remain from the Aid article as written anew for Insight.

  Do we have any proof that the Watchtower changed anything in response to Gentile Times Reconsidered?

  Jef's comment is not relevant. And it is off the mark. The parts of the article that remain are traceable to previously published material that R. Franz had no hand in writing.

  AND the other two articles are totally new articles on the same subject. NAME any other articles R. Franz wrote for Aid. A rewritten article replacing Franz article omits the original article. Do you always have this much trouble with the basic definition of words?

  I've named ALL of his known articles. Name another if you know of one. I did not say his articles were edited. I said he acted as an editor in the Aid Book project.

  The articles are on the same subject, but they are NOT the same articles. As they are in the Insight book, they are by someone else. They are NOT Franz's articles. Those are gone. That what is in the Insight book is on the same subject does not make them the same article.

  You are trying to save face. Period.

Unlike the nonsense often posted here, you can rely on it to be well researched and as accurate as possible. You won't find the nonsense recently written about John Aquila Brown there, because what was said here was way off the mark. You will find a reliable biography of Brown. And in Nelson Barbour: The Millennium's Forgotten Prophet you will find a reliable discussion of Brown's place in Watch Tower history.

  You won't find the utter nonsense about the Masons and the Watch Tower that seeps from the gullible into our discussions. You will find an accurate, verifiable discussion of that topic in Separate Identity, vol. one. Posters have a responsibility to those who read this discussion board to be truthful and as accurate as possible.

  Uncle B is a long-serving Witness, but he is also a well respected, honest historian, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He attended his first convention in 1952. Makes him old, and a bit of living history.
