Bravo!
Very funny indeed. Almost Onion-ish.
I think people outside the English speaking world might not be familiar with the concept of April Fools though.
ap – april 1st, 2017. russian earthquake forces putin to reconsider – won’t ban jehovah’s witnesses.
in a stunning reversal of events, vladimir putin had an emergency meeting with all un members and made a proposition unbanning jehovah’s witnesses worldwide.. after the devastating 6.9 earthquake in eastern russia, and after receiving nearly one metric ton of letters from jehovah’s witnesses worldwide, putin changed his mind and decided not only to not ban jehovah’s witnesses in russia, but proposed to the un to remove all restrictions from jehovah’s witnesses worldwide.. surprisingly, jehovah’s witnesses were not pleased.. david a. ssholian, the spokesman for jehovah’s witnesses, said that “this reversal is a disaster for jehovah’s witnesses worldwide.
we just can’t be unbanned everywhere, that would be a severe blow for our faith.”
Bravo!

the superstar of all scriptures.
for god so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.. .
but i just learned something about it.. i try to look at different translations of the bible and the lexham english bible words it a bit different.... 16 for in this way god loved the world, so that he gave his one and only son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life.
I think this kind of thinking outside the box nonsense is how people get involved with stupid cults .
Uh...okay. Thanks for that...I guess.
I can't see that it matters either way. If God loved the world at all, it wouldn't be in the state it's in.
Not sure I agree but okay.
Try reading it in The Message Bible.
Yes the Message bible in interesting to say the least. It is so paraphrased though. Makes many scriptures unrecognizable to me.

Note the difference?
I found a commentary about this and it makes sense...
The Greek word houtos, commonly translated in Jn 3:16 as "so" or "so much" occurs over 200 times in the NT. Almost without exception it is an adverb of manner, not degree (for example, see Mt 1:18). It only means "so much" when modifying an adjective (see Gal 3:3; Rev 16:18). Manner seems primarily in view in Jn 3:16. Some may think "so loved this world" as "God sooooo loved the world," while the Greek is referring to the manner that God loved the world.
I always understood it as god loved us soooo much that he gave his son. But now looking at this translation of verse 14 and 15...
And just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness,[f] thus it is necessary that the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.”[g]
So the message seems to be Jesus is like the snake lifted up in the desert by Moses.
Many of you probably have considered this but it's a new idea to me.
Any thoughts from the scholars among us?
the study was on how wt has refined itself over the years by ceasing celebrations of christmas etc.. paragraph 11.
11 what a fine example those faithful bible students set for us!
reflecting on their example, we do well to ask ourselves: ‘how do i view the direction we receive from headquarters?
he threw bread into the bin after pouring gunk on it.
(GASP!) Spiritual food?

2014 I believe Steve
jerome over on discuss the truth has picked up on something interesting.. in the july watchtower on page 28 of the article entitled “winning the battle for your mind” the following statement is made “keep in mind that satan does not want you to think clearly or reason things out well.
because propaganda is likely to be most effective, says one source, if people… are discouraged from thinking critically.”.
the quote comes from a book entitled: “media and society in the twentieth century: a historical introduction by lyn gorman, david mclean" the watchtower however, chose to leave out a portion of the quote.. the full quote is "therefore, it is likely to be most effective if people do not have access to multiple sources of information and if they are discouraged from thinking critically.. the following sentence which the watchtower also decided was best not to include states,.
Why does the WTS do this over and over and over again? Why do they think that their selective quoting of non attributed sources are not going to be exposed?
I am thinking they don't give a rats ass.
Maybe they even court discovery. Flipping the proverbial bird at the masses.
The rank and file are largely uneducated. they do whatever is is ordered from "headquarters" (as per last nights book study).
The big dogs up top are riding this to the end and if it tanks, then they have arranged a golden parachute for themselves.
That's what I think anyway

Wednesday, March 29
If a man takes a false step before he is aware of it, you who have spiritual qualifications try to readjust such a man in a spirit of mildness.—Gal. 6:1.
Kindness can help you to deal with a conflict of loyalties. For example, you may have definite knowledge that a certain fellow believer is guilty of serious misconduct. You may feel loyal to him, especially if he is a close friend or a relative. But if you were to cover up the wrongdoing, you would be disloyal to God. Of course, your loyalty to Jehovah should come first. Be kind yet firm. Urge your friend or relative to seek the help of the elders. If he or she does not do so within a reasonable period of time, loyalty to God should move you to report the matter to the elders. In doing this, you are being loyal to Jehovah and kind to your friend or relative, for Christian elders will try to readjust such an individual with mildness.—Lev. 5:1. w16.02 4:14
Evidently (WT uses that word so much I figured what the Hell)...Evidently, God needs you to rat out your friends because he is so busy with other things.
I can't believe I ever bought into this frigging cult.

Paragraph 11
11 What a fine example those faithful Bible Students set for us! Reflecting on their example, we do well to ask ourselves: ‘How do I view the direction we receive from headquarters? Do I gratefully accept it and apply what I learn?’ Our willing obedience shows our support for the Messianic King, who is using the faithful slave to dispense timely spiritual food.—Acts 16:4, 5.
Why do people think they are a cult?
front of jw.org has this article.... https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/archangel-michael/.
i am at work right now so can't examine it very close but was just curious what some of you more knowledgeable ones think of it?.
Enjoyed everyone's comments.
I really appreciate how so many of you know your stuff!
More and more I am coming to the conclusion that God wears many hats.
God the father is god in his spirit hat...no man can see him 'cuz he is a spirit.
The son or Jesus is God manifest in physical form so that men can see him.
And the holy spirit is God acting in people. When he guides you and when he does something in our physical world.
Is this what Trinitarians teach?
Anyway, that's where my head seems to be right now. I see these articles downgrading Jesus and it makes me think they are acting in a very anti-Christ manner.
apparently jehalapeno isn't a 2nd amendment supporter either.... .
july 17 questions from readers.... the way this part is worded screams cult to me, i was quite amused.. how a christian chooses to protect himself, his family, or his possessions is, of course, largely a personal matter, as is his choice of employment.. geee!
thanks watchtower for allowing me to "largely chose my own employment" you are a generous cult lol.
I had a XKS Paratrooper version.
It was stolen along with my car, computers, and bunch of other stuff when I was burgled a couple years ago.
Now all I have a Ruger 22
