Me and my wife were bothe baptized and courting when we asked to be married at the hall. Several brothers turned down our request because we hadn't dated for at least a year. and we eloped in a jewelry store at a mall though we faced silent shunning. Shortly after we both faded out during covid and time of the zoom meetings. 3 years later and were doing fine. In my experiance they can't tell you know but be ready to face persecution for not following guidelines of "divine principles"

Pimo's walking out
by Foolednomore inis it possible that jw's would get so worn out by watchtower 's bullshit that they would stand up gather their stuff and walk out of a meeting or a convention.
i can see a small number doing it..

It wasn't a meeting but I got called to the back room a few times for wearing top hats and bolo ties and wearing a handlebar mustache. I got into a heated argument with them once (not proud of my demeanor in that instance) and I picked up my Bible and walked out. This was after being reinstated and them telling me not to be alone with the younger brothers my age because I could discourage them. Appearance was the big concern with my elders.

How Murderers In the Congregation are handled
by blondie ini don't have the link but i am trying to post this, this is from a previous post on jwn.
watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc. dear brothers:.. we received your letter of december 17 in which you inquire about handling a situation involving a brother who has been guilty of serious violation of the law in the past.. you explained that you received information indicating that this brother ?committed several murders and crimes before his baptism.
you ask if law obligates some action on our part.

I just joined this community today and from what I can see there is a great many people who love new members. But if you are studying seriously with witnesses, this really might not be the best place for you. But if it's just out of curiosity, I extend a very warm welcome from a new member to a new member and hope you find truth rather than indoctrination

Does anyone have a photo copy they can share of a TMS topic?
by jojorabbit ini am looking for a tms that was published in the early 70s that said many have sold homes to go where the need was great, this is a fine way to spend ones time in the last days.
i am trying to remember how it was said to the best of my knowledge but this is close.

What could it be?

well now there's something being built on the same site.
i'm thinking a high watchtower monument.

They are just as bad at erasing their own history as any historical victor. Just because you don't believe your founders teachings now doesn't meen you don't acknowledge where you came from. Reminds me of a mid week meeting over 15 years ago where they told us to destroy old publications

Do you think Watchtower is owned by a man at the top
by Foolednomore indo you think watchtower is own by one man at top that is so mysterious but only the governing idiots answer to?.
or could it be a family like the rothschilds or some other wealthy family.
or a secret branch( experiments) of the government?.

I think that if you turn into any mainstream religion whether watchtower want to admit they are or not, you are owned by the government. Being a religion means you are automatically tax exempt. Yet the governments offer tax exempt form that you are not required to fill out. By filling out and returning these forms, you bind yourself to government restrictions and regulations on how to run your religion. Watchtower for years even through part of the N.H Knorr era, refused to be called a religion (see the 1943 watchtower article "eve religions first victim"). However, since the hostile take over by some board of directors (who claimed direct channel to God and called themselves a "governing body") in the Franz presidency (Franz did not agree with this and gave, at a convention what would now be considered an apostate talk) they've called themselves, not only a religion but the ONLY TRUE RELIGION. And as a matter of fact sometime between the above watchtower article and the release of the book faith on the March they considered themselves a religion. I still have research to do to fix a date on this but your question was to fascinating not to answer

I've been silently fading away for almost 3 years now, me my wife and parents. but i love the history of the religion i grew up in. our past doesn't define us, but it helps shape us into the people we are today. even though i will not go back, i don't regret my years with the organization. that being said, ive been collecting for about 2 years and have almost a complete library spanning as far back as with brother Storrs. im only missing a handful of items that i can pick up here and there with time and have reproductions made with templates and files that i have saved. but by far the hardest thing to find for me, is brother Paton's "the worlds hope" magazine. its almost like it has never existed. is there anybody that can help in my quest to have the most complete watchtower library in existence, and find some of the rarest pieces known?

if you must have a place to worship with others, i have found that small groups of torah followers are great people with many many backgrounds. they arnt jewish but the group i was with are small, in a small town and all they did was read scripture and discuss as a group. if you can find a group like that i think youll be in good hands
