  Any other established religions take neutrality stand in 1914?

  the bible students' non-participation in ww i is one of the key reasons why jesus selected the wts as the organization through whom god would save the world, according to myth.

  were there other religious groups or organized groups of any kind reported on from that era that refused military service?.

  Be careful that you are not falling for the old "confirmation bias" scenario where a person looks for "reasons" to shore up their current beleifs. It makes them "feel good" when they see or read something that "goes along" with what they believe. It gives them the "Yes! I made a good decision, I AM smart!" feeling.

  If you like to "believe" things based on "how it makes you feel" rather than "if there's evidence" then please continue "actively searching" for reasons that the WTBTS MUST be god chosen religion. But if you want to see the other side as to why the WTBTS was not chosen by JC and GOD in 1918-1919 then read Don Camerons book entitled "Captives of a Concept"

  Gloria Steinham once said "The truth will set you free, but first it's gonna piss you off!"

  i am having a hard time understanding why the current jw doctrine is to df a jw who associates with a df'd person.

  however, the elders cannot do anything to you for hanging around df'd family, even if you admit it is not necessary and they know it.

  can someone explain this?.

  I think they can DF you for hanging around a Df person. They DFd a previous Governing Body member for eating a meal with his landlord, a person who happened to be DF.

  its been stated.

  so if i went up to a local congregation and knocked on the door how would i get to talk to an elder about my mother in law.... i have no interest in being a witness.

  i have a relative that previously followed new age movement before becoming a jehovah witness.

  he listened to a lot of brain entrainment cd's, and now claims it's affecting his life as a witness.

  these sound frequencies supposedly have altered his ability to follow watchtower rules effectively.

  I want the rights to the book/movie.

  I have heard from a family member the the WTBTS has a special person that travels the US to help out with hard to fix demon cases. He's like the closest thing to an Excorcist.

  Not sure if this guy REALLY exist or if it is a way to shore up the JWs belief in demons.

  Dissonance is aroused whenever individuals voluntarily engage in an unpleasant activity to achieve some desired goal. Dissonance can be reduced by exaggerating the desirability of the goal. Aronson & Mills [19] had individuals undergo a severe or mild "initiation" in order to become a member of a group. In the severe-initiation condition, the individuals engaged in an embarrassing activity. The group they joined turned out to be very dull and boring. The individuals in the severe-initiation condition evaluated the group as more interesting than the individuals in the mild-initiation condition.

  All of the above paradigms continue to be used in fruitful research.

  Washing one's hands has been shown to eliminate post-decisional dissonance, presumably because the dissonance is often caused by moral disgust (with oneself) which is related to disgust from unsanitary conditions. [20] [21]

  what proof is there that rutherford was responsible for the pyramid monument near ctr's grave?.

  "charles taze russell died in 1916, the pyramid marker was installed in 1921 (5 years after his death), and the the masonic temple was built in the mid 1990s, these items have nothing to do with pastor russell's grave.

  the masonic temple is not even on the cemetery grounds, it is a different property altogether.

  Service meeting topic: Masturbation

  one of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.

  i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).

  looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.
