last week a sister in my new hall made the following comment,.
"a brother once told me that it is better to be wrong with the organization, than to be right and be on your own without the organization.".
wow.

lest we forget -- joseph rutherford, the man who wrote "millions now living will never die," has been dead more than 70 years now....
I realize that JF Rutherford meant that those that he was speaking to we're the ones that would never die. And he meant never experience death at all.
But the confirmation bias ( I think I an using the correct term) in the brother had him figuring out a way that the statement from JFK Rutherford could be made to work. And since these people did wind up experiencing death in the past, the idea that in the future, after being resurrected and passing all test from Jah, it could be said THEN that they would never die.

I probably read this on here in the past.
Someone said that they heard that some JW had reasoned that those that died and then will be resurrected in the future after the big A WILL not die in the New Order. And this would make JF Rutherford words actually come true.
He would make a great attorney or GB member.

recently i have seen an increase number of former members trying to argue ttatt with jws on youtube, news articles, facebook and public forums.
for the most part, i do not see a lot of vicious or hostile debates when former members are trying to show ttatt, but i have seen some arguments and approaches turn out very ugly, to the point of many face palms.. i remember there were several instances that completely turned me off towards ttatt as a believer because "apostates" would be entirely reprehensible and would fit the bill of what the society termed "mentally diseased".
i cannot fault ones here who have gone on a similar rampage now that i understand how people lose everything and everyone they love.
On another note, I watch quite a few of the Videos on Youtube and many of them start off by stating something to the effect of " If you are a current Jehovahs witness you should not be watching this video, please turn it off now."
So I'm not really sure what is happening here, would you want to trigger the lurking Jw to go into cult think and exit the video? What is the reasoning behind making an opening statement like this?

i ask a question on my other post but i think it got lost.
what is wt policy on what is approprate way of handling a person that is deceased ashes?
the reason why i ask is because we are having a family disagreement of how to handle my fathers ashes..
A close relative of mine said if he had his father ashes, he would flush them down the toilet. This was said while he is an elder.
Also as a side note, you can have ashes net off and have a man made diamond from the ashes, which is kinda neat

it's nearly 2 months now but mrs punk finally left myself (mentally diseased apostate tm) with my 2 non kingdum hell attending boys.. she left when my jw daughter moved out and they moved in together.
i don't think it'll be long before my daughter gets sick of her mum but there you go!!.
i received a call from mrs punk to say: 'i didn't leave you because of the religion!'.
If you could just get into that counselor as a client and give her/him the cult side of the story so that they might be more aware of what the kids are going through.
I would throw in some Steven Hassan links etc to bring the counselor up to date with the WTBTS and how it is a high control group.
Possibly this might help with the kids as they would see some info coming from a different source.

this thread was sparked by punkofnice's thread and started a lively "discussion" in my mind about patriarchal power.
so i didn't want to derail punkofnice's thread or tec's subsequent one, but am interested in a discussion.. punkofnice's thread.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/245335/1/the-gb-are-gods-mouthpiece-rebuttal-to-elders .
Isn't that what a abusive husband ask his beaten down wife when he senses that she is thinking about leaving him? "Where else will you go? No one loves you like I do, I do everything for you, you've got it good here, you don't know how bad it really is out there"

the gb brooks no questions or dissention.
their brand of truth seems quite delicate and incapable of standing up to scrutiny.
"the truth is incontrovertible.
Marked due to,great thoughts.
yesterday's watchtower study was the last straw for me...as you all have probably seen the post before me, here's the quote that did it for me.
11/15/2012 wt "forgive one another freely".
paragraph 16 - "in accord with jehovahs's will, christian elders have been entrusted with the responsibility of wrongdoing in the congregation.
I have not "missed" a meeting in over 18 months!
If ya know what I mean,..

hi guys.
richard e. kelly has kindly contributed a great article to jwsurvey.org on the link below.... http://jwsurvey.org/child-abuse-2/bo-juel-jensen-could-he-be-watchtowers-worst-nightmare.
richard tells the story of bo juel jensen, an ex-witness who has been doing marvellous work in raising awareness of watchtower child abuse mishandling in norway.. as with most child abuse victims, bo's story is a disturbing one.
Anyone know where the interview that Bo made is available online?
Im talking about the one where there was a cult expert on the panel.
