  this'll probably get me disfellowshipped eventually but it's been hella fun!.

  so lately every time an opportunity arrises while speaking to other jdubs at the meetings or assemblies or even just overhearing their conversations about new light or new publications, service, anything really i drop little things that pass unoticed by most but make some stop and think for a minute.. for example, after one sunday meeting, a brother came up to me with about 5 other jdubbies to poke fun at me saying, "i thought you said you never sat at the front?!

  what i have realized studying JWs,the bitter truth

  well, i have been studying jws religion ,my cousin is a jw and i have visited him a lot of times.i have watched his way of living and things like that.i have been at the district convention last week.i read so many things from both sides.i came to the conclusion that if someone believes god exists then it is so easy and he should be a jehovah's witness.sadly its true and that is why so many people are and every year they baptised even more.. stories about jws reducing?wrong.. facing problems?

  false.. everybody in the convention had an ipad ,iphones etc with the bible in it.

  Here is an analogy.

  Imagine a group of people riding in a carriage being pulled by a team of beautiful horses. The driver has an apparatus attached to the carriage that holds a large carrot out in front of the horses head to encourage them to continue to move forward as they attempt to reach the ever elusive carrot.

  In addition to the carrot the horses are outfitted with blinders attached to their bridles to prevent them from seeing anything else but the carrot so that they do not get distracted with the task at hand that being to pull the carriage. The driver also has a whip that is always at hand to correct the horses if they make an attempt to slow down or stop pulling their share of the weight of the carriag and its passengers. The whip has a distinct sound when used and the other horses know the sound of the other horses being whipped and all are brought to attention when they hear their fellow horses being corrected.

  The carrot is the promised things that are in the future and are always just out of reach of the Jw. The blinders are phobias or irrational fears that the WTBTS uses to prevent the Jw from being able to look at anything but the prized paradise earth, always in the future.

  The whip can be anyone of the disciplinary actions that the WTBTS holds over the heads of the Jw members. The fear of being shunned and losing the ability to speak to any of their entire social circle and or family members keeps the Jws rapt attentions forcing them to listen and follow all the directions of the WTBTS not because the course is the right one, but because of the fear of being whipped.

  I imagine you have it figured out who the driver and passengers are and also who the beautiful horses are.

  Don't let the driver lure you in with the promise of a carrot or the next thing you know you will have been hitched to the harness and it will be too late to run away.

  We are the ones that have shaken off the blinders and have noticed the pole and string holding the carrot realizing that it is impossible to ever reach it. While we are suffering while still being whipped by the driver we are doing our best to bring this ride to a halt and hope that you are open enough to listen to those that have been hitched in the past.

  My Jehovah's Witness broke up with me :(

  a few months ago, the jws came knocking on my door (see thread).. this discussion continued and the next time she brought a man along with her.

  i told them that i'd study with them if they could prove to me god exists and the bible was his book.

  for our next visit, only the man showed up.

  Interesting,..

  Can you give me more indoor links to the evidence that the WTBTS sent representatives to these meetings at the UN? I'm not doubting you, I'm familiar with the UN NGO fiasco and had read where they signed up for these reasons and the library card excuse was a lie.

  Also I would think that having some print outs explaining cognitive dissonance and its effects, feeling surreal a bit etc,.. Also that many will excuse their doubts and pigeon hole the evidence since considering it leads to dissonance , etc.

  I think that when we see someone experiencing CD we need to insert some info about it while they are opened intellectually to the experience.

  Hand it to them In a print out so they can take it with them and read it and re read it over and over until they can get it, as it were.

  I would explain to them just after making a mind altering point, me that you can see them thinking, that more than likely they will "put this aside" and eventually forget about it or belittle it until it does not "hurt their mind" anymore.

  Explaining to them that dwelling on these arguments and seeing that they are valid is not beneficial to their idea as to how the world works or how they frame it and that they will have to either forget about it or see it for what it is and they will have to reframe their beliefs to loe the dissonance.

  Of not, they hear and think about CD for a moment and the CD makes them forget about it,..

  just put my 6 yr old to bed and we always have a chat about the day.

  she tells me that she knows about another thing that happens to our bodies when we die in addition to buriel and cremation.. .

  she tells me that they can do something really nasty to the body but its ok because they're dead so don't know about it.

  Yeah we had something like that happen a few months ago here in the USA.

  High school coach brings Pastor into high school work out area for football team. He, the Pastor, starts out with these analogies about team work, some comparisons between god ad coach. How you cannot ignore the coach and his rules. If you decide not be part of the team, it's your call, but once you leave the team, it's up to the coach to take you back. You can't just show up for practice the next day. Coach has to be the one to accept you back into the team, it's not your decision to make anymore. Then he explains how the same thing works with god, you cannot leave the team and then just expect to show upset your whim.

  The coach is a religious nut thinking he can bring a pastor into the school.

  Fortunately my son takes after his father and grabbed his phone and recorded all of it. Lol.

  The coach told the kids that if they do not believe in god they can't play on the team.

  Anyway I called and talked to the principle and met with her and let her hear the recording in person and she talked to the coach and put him on some type of probationary period. I told her that he would not change and that he would still try to work god into the team somehow.

  My wife and a few friends were at a booster club meeting and he told them on the side that someone turned him in for bringing in a Pastor and tht Satan is trying to keep god out of these kids lives.

  Little did he know that my wife and the friend are all on the same page regarding separation of church and state. The coach did tell my wife and friend that he would find a way to make it happen, meaning get god back into the presence of this team, somehow.

  So I still have that recording if I need it. Maybe the ACLU might be called next.

  does anyone know how to contact cynthia franz to ask if she can inquire about publishing raymond franz's books in ebooks/digital formats?

  if raymond franz's books were in digital formats for sale, it could help cyhthia franz to live a little bit better and could also help more jws.. a quick check of www.amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_13?url=search-alias%3daps&field-keywords=crisis%20of%20conscience%20raymond%20franz&sprefix=crisis+of+con%2caps%2c211 suggests that raymond franz's books are in paper editions only.

  in the thread coc request, tech49 wanted to obtain a digital copy of "crisis of conscience" so that he could read it without drawing suspicion to himself, but could not locate a digital version of it.

  Thanks for confirming that for me.

  I wanted to clarify that I myself did not believe that the future claim from the WTBTS that there would be those that in effect, would never die to be a "out" for thier claims of millions now living will never die IE a futuristic setting.

  i could give you hundreds of experiences but let me kick off with the following.

  i boarded a train at 4am heading to an airport a few weeks ago.

  in my carriage there were at least 100 people.. .

  Wake up moment for me, at least a little easy slap on the face.

  Was at a KH build down South in the USA and was staying at a local brothers house sleeping on the floor on a blanket.

  Heard the other brothers making it into the house, you know, the ones with bedrooms and also the ones that were white and that were

  in charge of running the build as far as the construction process it self. They had a distinct look of "Marlon Brando" (Early years) about them. You know the type, white tee shirts, long greased hair with a curl twisted over the forehead Elvis style. Right out of the 50-60s. I was wondering where the pack of cigarettes were that were usually folded under the short sleeve.

  Well after a bit of drinking, you could hear them start using the "N" word. Note that the congregation was pretty much if not all Black brothers and sisters as far as I could tell. I say that due to the ones bringing all the food and also the ones dressed like they had just been out in service as they were all black.

  So here I was having to listen to some apparently drunk white BROTHERS in charge of the build laughing and useing the "N" word like it was going to be outlawed soon.

  I got up, borrowed a truck and went into town and rented a room at the local hotel.

  So Rutherford NEVER said "millions now living "may" never die" ?

  I thought I had seen on a video on youtube that this was the case and that he had changed it after a bit to "WILL" but I may have completely missed that point.
