I think refusing to be civil is a extreme that demeans those women and makes others uncomfortable around you. We all experienced shunning and felt for the shunnned. Being civil is not pretending anything, it’s polite and part of living in civilization. If they are harassing you blocking their calls is legit and you have no obligation to take any call even if you just don’t like them. But refusing to speak in public is awkward for everyone. Not necessary. You don’t need to extend any warm fuzzies but a lax handshake will send the message without being rude

I remember all the talk about how we didn’t celebrate he unscriptural Christmas but the decreed remembrance of the death , then quoting scripture about how the day of ones death is better then the day of ones birth and therefore we commemorate the death of Jesus
blah blah blah

Ties are out. Tats are acceptable. Will JW change their dictates since acceptable business standards have veered away from dress for success standards of 50s?
Anyone else kind of amused by the fact that they want you to dress like you are successful in business office world, but the first suggestions about clothes are how a new recruit can find a suitable suit or dress at the charity store? Then you are discouraged for striving for the material success that they want to portray? No hypocrisy there.

I don't know much about masons though my father in law had a memorial or something by his local lodge which the family attended. He was prominent in his community.
My limited understanding is that one initiates and then rises through the ranks. Wouldn't there be records of them before they entered the higher levels even if the higher degrees are not necessarily recorded?
I was with father In law at death. No toga was requested or oiffered.
I dont believe Catholics are accepted as Masons or they are not allowed (religiously) to join. This was a contentious issue between Catholic husband and his dad.

Memorial Invitation 2018 : Subliminal Message ?
by jwdoctrine inhttp://jwdoctrine.com/memorial-invitation-2018-demonic-subliminal/.
memorial invitation : subliminal message.
at first glance, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the invitation but on closer look a disturbing detail becomes apparent.it is in the upper right corner of the illustration of jesus christ celebrating the last supper with his disciples in the upper room...there seem to be trees outside the window but on closer inspection, all thanks to the pdf format of the invitation that allows you a very close look down to the fine detail, these are not trees but letters!!!.

Why? She had other stuff on her plate. That book wasn't going anywhere. Her husband is gone forever.

Crooked Teeth
by Introvert 2 inwell 55 yo this summer times flies.. was in my late thirties when i started thinking about getting braces or some other treatment for my crowded teeth.
decided to put it off a few years later as 'the new system' ™ was right around the corner.
then went through a huge burn out depression and my teeth became a lesser priority.

My son had too much teeth for his jaw and ortho removed two for braces. Gorgeous! My bro in law actually needed his jaw realigned with some surgery. Again, very good results. He had a badly shaped jaw and he went from looking kind of awkward to quite handsome. Too be sure, he always was cuter than he thought. Don't shortchange yourself.

I would consult with a couple of dentists who can do both kinds of things, go in with no expectations and consult with them about options, expectations, pros and cons for you.
Generally, if teeth and gums have enough health, preserving teeth is prioritized as a overall health concern. Your dentist could tell you better than us yahoos.

My dad RIP
by ScottyRex inmy dad died 2 weeks ago on sunday.
i will miss him so much.
he was the funniest most greatest man i have ever known.. granted for the first 30 years i wasnt that much keen on him and i don't think he was on me much either.....let me explain.. mum and dad met in 1964, mum was the prettiest girl in the town, mini skirts, raised hair, the daintiest figure, she looked the spit of audrey hepburn at breakfast at tiffanys.

Scott, my condolences to you and your family.
Even when our family relationships are complicated, we are usually still bound to them with love, even when we have tough histories underlying it.
Losing a parent is hard. I'm sorry for your loss.

Is My Wife Awakening?
by My Name is of No Consequence inevery now and then, my wife will talk about how things are not making sense within the org.
i usually just dismiss it as her playing mind games with me.
for example, she would ask why there are so many branches being closed or why so many congregations are being merged.

Della, that is it. You are exactly right, along with others here. I think that is the least damaging and kindest approach with an otherwise intelligent person who is giving out clues that they are waking up. It's also the least likely to get the validator into conflict with anyone or to ruin a fade.
