  If the rumor is true, and there is a new bible will it be distributed at the AGM?

  total speculation of course, but if they are good marketers every attendee will leave the event with a shiny new new world translation.

  The secrecy revolving these new Bibles is unreal.

  The DO's and CO's and Special Aux's that were given one had to turn them in before this event.

  If these were to be given out at locations other than the Stanley Theater the rumors would have been confirmed since they'd have been shipped and stored locally.

  I think it likely that they may do a limited release only for the Stanley Theater audience and then announce that congregations may begin ordering at a future date.

  i was informed that due to oct 5th wt biz meet all meetings for that week are cancelled,.

  i asked if the mid week meeting was also and was told yes, because of the assembly.. it seems there's an overload of theocratic alternative banqueting feasts available so.

  that the regular menu at the kh is not necessary for that week.

  The Emphatic Diaglott, still being published by the WTB&TS for the benefit of ... NOT JWs but for Christadelphians, Church of God Holiness and Abrahamic Faith folks.

  there are english speaking denominations that actively use the emphatic diaglott.

  the wtb&ts is the only publisher providing new printings of this nt interlinear.

  the r&f jehovah's witness doesn't use the diaglott (not even the jw version of it "kingdom interlinear translation" that supplanted it).

  Since there's a lack of NWT's at the KH...

  I wondered if you could still order some of the other bibles from the Watchtower.

  The ASV and the KJV aren't available anymore although the Society owns plates for them.

  Neither is the Bible in Living English.

  The Kingdom Interlinear, and of course the Emphatic Diaglott, are still available,

  in a navy blue cover.

  I'm wondering if it's not safe to post info here as Oppostate did.

  It may be advisable to remove text including any contact information.

  My reasoning is that it may bounce back to JWN and Simon. And...

  if Simon is served with papers to release info on this user would IP

  address and ISP information get released which could be traced back

  to a person's computer?

  Anyway, I also frequent the EXTJ.com website and recommend it to

  anyone who knows Spanish. A lot of new goodies, and oldies articles

  there for anyone interested in the JW/exJW Spanish community.

  Why get "personal" when discussing a topic?

  trading insults happens among kids all the time.. intellectual development hasn't progressed to the point where they can present contrary ideas and opinions with persuasive appeal to reasons, facts and logic.. "i know you are; but what am i?".

  "your momma's so fat....".

  so, they fall back on childish mocking, provocation and personal attack.. as we grow older and have more education and sophistication our minds should mature---or so you'd think!.

  For me all human interaction is personal.

  For un-personal interaction we might as well talk to an ATM.

  The more educated the person may be the more hidden in fancy
  talk the pesonalizing of comments may also be... but the personalizing
  is there, it can be found... hard to see perhaps ... but it's there.

  For me the more emotionally charged a conversation is, the more human it seems.

  When Paul got in Peter's face and called him out on his hypocritical behavior,
  now that's something I can believe.

  When Jesus makes a whip out of ropes and drives the money changers out
  of the Temple... now that I can believe.

  When the High Priest called for Paul to be struck on the mouth to shut him up.
  And Paul calls evil down on him. That seems very real and human, to me.

  Taking things personally is the human way to interact with other humans.

  Taking away the personality behind statements makes a human into a machine...
  It's like a product of management, administrators posing as robots, hypocrits who
  who underneath the all-business, nothing-personal, rationalizations have the
  same taking it personal attitude but try to keep it hidden.

  In the end it's all personal.

  Roma (gypsy) becoming JWs

  in eastern europe, a significant portion of jw are roma.. i came across this paper describing the conversion of a family in slovakia and their religious lives etc... quite interesting..... http://revacern.eu/exchange-programme/ep-paper%20hrustic.pdf.

  obviously, there is a problem with prejudice from non roma jw vs roma jws,.

  since the society has published a video entitled our romani brothers to conteract this.... (if i remember correctly) .

  In Spain a "great crowd" of Rom-Kale, i.e. Gitanos, are leaving the Catholic Church and becoming Evangelicals. The main church is the Iglesia de Filadelfia, and when they go to Church they call it "el culto" which despite the etymological roots to "cult" actually means just "worship".

  They sing flamenco during worship and use Jehovah and Jah all the time. They speak Calo' which is a mixture of Andalusian accented Spanish with Romani vocabulary thrown in. This Youtube video is worth watching if you like hard-core flamenco and gypsy culture.

  In my family the Witnesses, American Missionaries, came calling when I was 10 and studied with my Mother and Grandmother--during the Franco days.

  There are English speaking denominations that actively use the Emphatic Diaglott. The WTB&TS is the only publisher providing new printings of this NT interlinear. The R&F Jehovah's Witness doesn't use the Diaglott (not even the JW version of it "Kingdom Interlinear Translation" that supplanted it). So who do you think is buying the copies of the Emphatic Diaglott today, why is it still being printed? Because the WTB&TS sees the investment as worthwhile, and because the retail price on these is $24, while printing of it costs a mere 80+ cents, not even one $USD.

  a friend of mine, active jw, is about to go to the states and needs an english ahcd document.

  can any of you provide me a scan of the latest revision of the us edition of it?

  i found an australian version that pretty much resembles the current romanian revision used here (nov. 2004), but i'm not sure it's accurate according to us laws and/or the us version of the form.

  In the U.S. there are different versions depending on which of the States you live in since there's State laws that concern these and there isn't a federal law commanding them. So the wording may change in a form from down South or from Out West to the one used in New England, and even within regions, the one from Massachusetts may resemble one from another State in another region more than in a neighboring State. Maybe this will change with new federal regulations on health care, but as of yet, that's what I understand the situation to be in the U.S.
