we have the circuit overseer’s visit this week, and my folks are having him and his wife over for lunch today.
of course, i’m making it a point of hightailing it out of there to have my lunch elsewhere.
when my mom asks me “why don’t you stay and meet him,” i just say, “well, he’s just a man like everybody else.” she says, “well, of course.
Typical for when the CO comes for a visit. I even had one come by once. Made him a gluten free pizza because he had celiac disease. In and out in 40 minutes, just enough time to get his ass back to the hall. Didn't say a word in the way back. That was a long 15 minutes.😕
Then on Sunday my wife bought him a pizza stone. Guess who became a MS after that visit?😎

I see it all the time by the eltards in my current congregation. Makes me sick the way these women are treated and what's sad is they just take it. I know one in particular who gets verbally berated right in front of people for the stupidest things.

i booked a double appointment so that she wouldn't be rushed.
i explained that i'd been brought up in the jw's and woken up to what a load of shite it was.
i explained that they have changed the blood card and that the elders in the cong are being told to effectively force people into signing it.

lol, for some reason, i was thinking back to all the many "characters" that were often so prevalent in kingdom halls back in the day.
they are, i am sure, still there now, but fortunately i haven't been in a kh for like 20 years.. anyway, i remembered this one brother, who was dying to be made an elder.
he could not believe he wasn't an elder yet, after sooo many years.
There is a guy at the hall that comes to mind. He sooo badly wants to become an elder. He tries so hard too it's actually kinda sad to see such gross desperation.
His problem? Scary. He is probably the scariest person you will ever meet. Misspell his name and he throws a fit. Don't turn in your territory on time and he will hound you like a rabid dog. He even went on a rant about humility and how he needs to display it on multiple meeting parts he did.
Now they use him even less cause he's such a head case. Funny thing is we had our CO visit recently and AGAIN he wasn't appointed. LOL!!!
jw's are constantly trying to prove they have the truth.
they always point to matthew 24:14 and say "who is accomplishing this work today?
this proves we have the truth and gods backing".. for those of us in this community looking from the other side what is one thing that proves to you that this organization does not have gods backing?
That name "Jehovah" rattles my cage too. The name doesn't belong in the Greek seeing as the Tetragrammaton or the 4 letters have no equivalent in Greek. So for them to put that name in the Greek is a travesty.
