I Found Something Better Than "The Truth"!

i often come across jw's using the "worldwide brotherhood" as one of the reasons to justify that jw's have "the truth.

" such a brotherhood, they claim, would not exist outside the organisation because there is no way that people of different religions, nationalities, races, cultures, backgrounds, languages etc.

can be united and associate together freely without "the truth!".

There are lots of associations and organizations out there that have something better than the Borg, people who love unconditionally and don't look at you with eyes of judgement. We have met many since leaving that are 1000 times better than the witlesses. Compassionate Friends, Metro Share, Salvation Army and many other groups.

Even your run of the mill folk are better. We were bourbon tasting yesterday down in Louisville, Ky and ran into a couple from Texas. Two awesome people who we may have never given the time of day a few years back. Good people are everywhere, we just need to be willing to invite them into our lives.

well today was the big day.

we finally let the cat out of the bag to the in-laws about watchtower.

previously there were unknown rumors being spread about me and today i found out why the wife and i are being shunned.

Lots of problems with what the JW's teach.

in the November tv show Losch said that the new scrolls were new information that people would live by. Don't see that in Rev 20

The one oclock meeting

i go to a hall (very rarely) with a single cong of about 60 people in a small city of maybe 10000. our board of elders is a bunch of childless weirdos or at least the ones that make an effort.. they recently changed the sunday meeting time from 10/12 to 1/ 3. a number of us are pissed off.

its makes to hard to drive to the city or go to a football game.. i just know the gestopo elders behind the change.

if your life isnt as miserable or pointless as theirs, they arent doing their job.

Yea screw those meetings and serve us. Weekends are better spent making breakfast, doing some shopping, the occasional stroll in a given direction to see something fun and pretty much anything non JW related. It's great not having to dread the weekends anymore.

Agreed!! Sad but true. MIL still thinks we are under Satanic control. It's pretty unbelievable at this point. My wife shared with her all the info on the ARC and MIL immediately became defensive, thinking it was "apostate driven lies."

She showed her info on their current belief regarding Revelation chapter 20 and then told her to actually read the entire chapter. It's obvious the time frame for the second resurrection is after the millennial reign and the books or scrolls are not "new direction" but personal judgements based on the persons life. Ugh!!😑

So my wife had an interesting conversation with her mother yesterday. It seems that even with everything we said to them, not a thing sunk in. Now that is to be expected. What is funny is that they firmly feel as if this is just a phase we are going through and we will return!! We made it clear that we are never going back and this is what she heard?!!

She wants us to go to their Memorial this upcoming year. I explained to them that it is an inversion ritual, a Satanic Black Mass. They also want us to accept a shepherding call. Why? So I can hammer them for hours and they not absorb a single thing? Waste of time and energy!!

Either way she made it clear that if we talk bad about the organization, or if we envoke evil apostates they will shun us. How sad. I didn't realize they were so far gone! How sad that they care so little for their own flesh and blood daughter.

Anyways sorry for the rant. We did do a Life Breath session yesterday! I recommend it to all who have an open mind.

Interperatation of Revelation 13 due for an update?

regarding the watchtower interpretation of revelation 13 https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/g201105/seventh-world-power-bible-history/ - identifying the usa and britain as part of the legs of iron from daniels vision... i think they're gonna have to update this one in the next decade.. trump seems to be the last person who'd work closely with a female prime minister for one, secondly, us brits aint so powerful as we once was.

trump appears to be pretty ok with dealing with russia and for all we know could become an ally with them.. your thoughts?.

now that i read the watchtower interpretation of revelation without my jw spectacles on, it's laughable that they come to these conclusions..

I'd love to see Revelation chapter 20 reviewed, but then again they can't cause it would destroy too many of their teachings regarding the second resurrection, the books or scrolls that are opened and the timing of such.

Entertainment: What's everybody reading or into right now?

i picked up bernard cornwell's the pagan lord at the library.

historical fiction set in england after the death of alfred the great.

i'm loving it, especially the between-the-lines wit and sense of timing in cornwell's writing, and the complete badassery of the protagonist.

@schnell Diablo 3 is insane fun if you like a Warcrafty type game. It's cheap with real replay value.
