Another "pull the football away just before you can kick it" comment made by Circuit Assembly's special guest, Thomas Chicky
by sir82 ini started a thread on this guy's comments about building kingdom halls here.. the guy also said this (again, not a word for word quote, but the gist of his comments):.
"the primary hope of salvation is the resurrection.
jehovah does not promise anyone that he will survive armageddon.

I also remember an older lady say with a tear in her eye that she hopes Armageddon comes soon because she was worried that she may not live to see it. How sad. These people are in such a bad place. I hate what this religion does to good, honest hearted people. -

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

New member
by NinaCee ini did not see a newbs thread to introduce myself, so my apologies if i'm in the wrong place.
i was a 3rd generation born in witness for 30 years until i was disfellowshipped back in 2007 for making a mistake.
my entire life up until that point was based on and circled around the society, and even though at first i really enjoyed my freedom (i still do), the fact is that i'm still struggling with cognitive dissonance, resentment, and loneliness.. i miss my family all the time.

Welcome. As Steve2 said, work on finding yourself now that you are free. It's not easy losing family to that organization, but find hobbies and activities that connect you with others. Personally we have found friendship with non-Jw family and a few groups/charities that we have joined.
Just as when you were in, keep reminding yourself as to why you left and why you would never go back. Make the "real truth your own" so to speak. This will keep you from falling back on old habits.
Most of all, live your life, take some risks. You only live once so make the best out of the time you have left.

This is horrible but expected. I personally know of people at my old hall who took out $10,000 + loans for our build just a few months before this new arrangement. All their money now gone.

need to "stay alive to xx75" to prove wt wrong? again?
by prologos inyou dont have be alive to 2075 to prove that the wt's anointed generation is and will prove to be wrong, it is!
and you can do it now, by asking just one question:.
does the "generation" prophecy of math.

Or maybe Jesus meant the generation he was talking too there and nothing more.

JW mention in Geography book
by Nihilistic Journey ini was reading a book exploring he relationship between geography and religion and found the following quote starting on page 121 of chris park's sacred worlds.. park, c. c. (1994).
sacred worlds: an introduction to geography and religion.
london: routledge.. one of the most dynamic religious groups in terms of disseminating its beliefs is the jehovah’s witnesses.

It will take a war that will literally kill billions in order for them to be saved into paradise.
Yes, they do not engage in war now, but they pray for the deaths of all who do not satisfy their Heavenly Fathers "will". (Unknown to them sadly)

I wonder if the 200 million was just a typo left unchecked?
Either way a pacifist is:
a person who believes that war and violence are unjustifiable. That is a far throw from what the JW's believe with their Armageddon teaching. -

Fight Fire With Fire!
by The Searcher inwolves use their "loyalty" questions to trap others - "do you believe we're living in the last days/this is god's organization/faithful slave?
" - yet resolutely avoid discussing topics which put their org in a bad light, my "loyalty" question to them would be - "do you accept literature truth over bible truth?
" they will either run or be forced to ask for examples of alleged differences.any other suggestions for "loyalty" questions?.

@a believer. Why can't you "wait till it's all fixed"? Are you saying you wish death on the billions of men, women, children and babies who are not Jehovah's Witnesses?
That attitude is not very Christ-like.

Don't know or care what I am. It's just a label. I don't believe in a loving God, angels, the devil or spirits.
Is there A God? Who knows? But if there is one he must hate his creation.
